If it hadn't been for the excellent spit roast pork this place wouldn't even be worth a "poor". The service was awful and the rest of the food no better than ok. It's a shame because the setting is great.

We stopped in this charming village on a day's drive around the island. We bought some jewelry at a local store and asked for a restaurant recommendation. They led us up to the main street and suggested this place which is where they always eat (New Zealanders living locally). Instead we fell for the atmosphere of O Yiannis (O Giannis).... More
At first glance, this tavern has it all: a beautiful location in the heart of a typical village in central Naxos, a shaded terrace, a delicious aroma. The illusion is short-lived. One quickly realizes that the idyllic setting can not compensate for the average quality of the food, but also the poverty of service. The waitress of the day, which... More
We drove to this taverna after a recommendation from a local, who said the souvlaki was the best on the island. It certainly was tasty, and the portion was huge. The local wine was very good, and the other dishes we ordered were nice too. Service could have been better, but overall we enjoyed our meal here.
We were shown this establishment by a jeweller across the road and we will visit again before we go home. The food was so freshly made we saw it bubbling away! Stuffed tomatoes for me meat balls for hubby.
We stopped in this restaurant for lunch by chance and enjoyed the best home made food in Greece. We took whatever the lady of the house had prepared (mousaka, dolmadakia and greek salad). It was simply heavenly and cost only 10 Euros per person. If you are nostalgic of traditional greek recipes (grandma's food), this is the place to enjoy... More
I was with my friends, a greek couple, for a sightseeing; on the way back to Rhodes we decided to have something to eat in Maritsa and looking for a tavern we found Yannis place. We asked for mezes, as usual, and we got a great variety tasty and fresh. The house red wine was fantastic, produced by the owner.... More
I have to agree with a reviewer above, the owner is a real character and the setting is amazing - but the pork was unforgettable. If/when I go back to the Greek Islands, this place is definitely on the return list!
