Great visit to the ice hotel, we stayed in a executive suit which was Thor’s room as it was Viking themed this year. It is definitely not as cold as you would imagine it to be, yes it was -5c but actually to sleep in...More

Our guide designed and carved the ice sculptures - different theme to last year. He was as charming and welcoming as last year. Interesting to look at the amazing Igloo ice hotel.

The Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is a most remarkable establishment made of ice with many ice statues and carvings. It is as classy as it is unique. The service is wonderful and very hospitable. The lounge in the spacious, fully wooden communal cabin is very comfortable...More

We came here for a night, which included dinner and breakfast. Let me start by saying that dinner was the best we had in Norway (Johnny from Traste&Trine trained theit chef). The snowmobile tour brought us to breathtaking vistas, overlooking King Harald’s fishing cabin. Thanks,...More

Nice structure, remembering a Sami house with a fire in the center. In this occasion we could choose between reindeer soup or fish soup. We’ve chosen the first one and was rather delicious! While you’re there, don’t forget to visit the (ice) igloo hotel and/or...More

But who cares? Fantastic food, brilliant snowmobile and reindeer experiences, particularly the latter, overseen by proud and dignified Sami. Also saw the northern lights, overseen by the redoubtable Hans. None of it to be missed! Inspirational time. But to say the truth, the best bit...More

How often would you stay in a snow hotel? Just due to this i would say its worth giving it a go for at least one night. The surrounding area is dark & perfect for watching the northern lights!

Our chef and waitress Russa (I hope that is the right spelling) was excellent. She recommended the best wine, she treated us like royalty. The food was exquisite and the atmosphere really relaxed and cosy. No rushing, taking our time was important to her. She...More

Fantastic setting by the Alta river. After a run up the river in a wooden long boat, seeing all the fishing people on the banks of this very fast running river, trying to Catch a prized Salmon, we enjoyed reindeer stew with fresh crusty bread,...More

The restaurant Laksestua (salmon hut) has always been well known for its special architecture, assembling the shape of a Sami lavvo and its pleasant atmosphere. Sorrisniva is in the middle of nature’s larder: the river, the fjord and the plateau offer excellent raw materials for the Chef to turn into delicious dishes. The kitchen follows the food calendar, ensuring the guest have meals appropriate to the season they are in at all time. The restaurant has become one of Finnmark`s best, and our chef Johnny Trasti was rewarded «best chef of the year 2009» in Norway. The restaurant is open for larger groups throghout the year and for a la carte from January to April.
