Rang and booked a table for early evening. Arrived and was shown to our table. Served our drinks and given the menus and special board. Chose starters and salmon for our mains Had just enough room for coffee. Shame because desserts looked amazing. Staff were very helpful😃

Called again yesterday . Food particularly the lamb outstanding . Great service. Nice quiet atmosphere . A good alternative to the ridiculously busy pub in nearby Wessington. Recommended .

We booked for a Saturday evening in mid December. From the moment we pulled in to the car park my partner for the evening was impressed. The building is visually attractive as it sits sturdily beside the main Alfreton to Matlock road. We were shown to a table at the top of the room as the main restaurant was already... More

Visited as a large group of 11. Accommodated us easily and we were served quickly. There was no dedicated kids menu but they had the usual choice of sausages, fish fingers, nuggets or a small roast. There was plenty of meat for the Sunday roast, with roasters and veg to share. I had the tiramisu for pudding and it was... More

Me and my other half called here for a meal last night, we were seated straight away, with drinks. The menu isn't extensive, but what they have, they make incredibly well! They have a chefs specials board they bring to you as well. I had sea bass, which most places I go, don't make it very well, however, this wasn't... More

The surroundings are a little old fashioned (bright patterned carpets) and the toilets desperately need updating. The menu for Sunday lunch is traditional British food and cooked well. The starters are small portions but always delicious but the portion sizes of the main courses and desserts are just right. We've been several times sometimes as a couple and sometimes with... More

We went to the The Plough for my mums birthday... the food was amazing! Without mentioning the starters, these were superb too... Two of us had the fish and chips... a huge piece of cod loin covered in crispy batter... plus homemade chips and mushy peas. My wife had the halibat - such a good portion with a sundried tomato... We chose The Plough Inn as it's exactly half way between Sheffield and Stafford for family to meet up. The Inn has several small dining areas set within a lovely traditional Peak District stone building. It was a quiet evening and staff were friendly and attentive. I requested a Gluten Free, Low Fodmap meal and the chef made me a... More

Have to admit to being a fan of this establishment. Not our first visit, just the latest of many. The food is excellent, the surroundings are quite oldy worldy the view from the outside tables (not generally for diners) in the Summer are impressive and the welcome is always warm. I won't recount what we chose from the menu, suffice... More
