A beautiful English pub with outstanding food. The staff, lead by the manager are friendly and attentive. The Sunday lunch was fabulous and the Lemon sweet was to die for. Truly a great meal which everyone enjoyed. A great atmosphere and comfortable surroundings we really enjoyed it.

Food ok but not great. Manager very unaccommodating and sarcastic. I wanted to change one item on the meal I had and asked if I could pay the 55p difference in price between the two items on the side menu. He said it would cost £1. When I asked why he said "That is the pricing structure". When I asked... More

We were a party of 8,including a dog, visiting for Sunday lunch. The pub was clean, and attractive with old world charm. A good selection of ales, and were seated on a large to let capable of taking us all. The staff were very attentive, polite, friendly and professional. The food arrived within 20 minutes, hot, well presented and very tasty! The pie was amazing,the... More

Having heard the pub had been refurbished and was under new management we decided to try it but we won't be going back as the food was very disappointing. The duck salad was extremely salty, which we commented on to the waiter but he appeared pretty disinterested. The cherry tart was over cooked, dry and tasteless with the most minuscule... More

The building itself has been done out quite nicely but I think it's more of a place for drinkers as the restaurant food and service is very poor indeed. Starters are extremely expensive whilst portions are extremely small. My meal consisted of greasy fish and about 11 chips ...hardly a man sized portion... Far more suited for a child's portion... I had never eaten here before but i was very impressed tonight. The restaurant and pub is very tastefully decorated. The menu is varied but not over engineered. I chose the homemade pie, with mash and veg. It looked and tasted great. The quiz was fun but i certainly wasnt much help to my team. Overall a good night out.... More
