Feeling we needed a break from Meat, Fish and the more traditional regional food sought out Shangri La after consulting the oracle that is Tripadvisor and were not disappointed on either of the occasions we visited. Evening one started with Goats Cheese Salad (shared) followed by Ratatouille Lasagna and Mushroom Stuffed Cannelloni. The Salad arrived and I thought: "Why have... More

A small street corner location, but comfortable inside. Good food and it looks as though it has much live music activity all year. meat on offer too, but veggie food is in the majority.

We were looking for a break from meat and decided to give Shangri-la a try. We're really glad we did. On our first visit we had the lasagne and the moussaka; my husband had to help me finish the lasagne as it was such a large serve. On our second visit we had the nachos and the zucchini crepes. Both... More

We are driving from the Costa del Sol up to Santander and are spending two nights in Merida which is well worth a visit. We're not vegetarians but this restaurant caught our eye on a VERY hot day. Inside was small, quaint and cool with lots of Chinz and flowery things. Then came the food....my, my. It was SO delicious!... More

The desserts here are clearly homemade and truly delicious - we tried nearly all of them over a three day period!!!!! Excellent selections of teas too. Los postres aquí eran claramente caseros y deliciosos de verdad – probamos casi todos durante nuestra estancia de 3 días. ¡Además, una selección de tés fantástica!

Our Spanish friends say this is the only vegetarian restaurant in Extremadura.... It's certainly the only one in Mérida and it was very pleasant. We were a table of 9 including two kids under 6 and every ate well for a reasonable price. It's not the cheapest place but the food is cooked fresh and little touches like local Acorn... More

My son and I are vegetarian, and so were happy to find a vegetarian restaurant in Merida. My husband (not a vegetarian) was not convinced. However, we persuaded him to try it, and we all had a great evening. Inside is a little dated and there is not much room, but it was fine as most people seemed to be... More

We ate lunch here during our visit to Merida. They don't do a menu del dia, so be prepared to pay more than you might expect for lunch. The menu wasn't that extensive and some items that appeared on the written menu outside weren't on the printed menu that we saw inside. We chose to have the burrito and the... More

We are not vegetarians but on this evening we agreed that a break from meat was what we needed. After a bit of a search we found Shangri La. I had a burrito, my wife had a Lasagna, we were both very satisfied. This is a very nice restauranth wit excellent service. The wine was an Extramaduran Red - a... More
