The café is a former Presbyterian Church in the delightful little town of Malmsbury. Coffee and cake and snacks are served outside in the fine weather. Dining is generally inside at an eclectic mix of repurposed domestic dining room tables and chairs. The food is prepared and cooked individually, so it's not the place for a quick meal. The 3... Called in here on a public holiday for coffee. Place wasn't busy but waited more than 20 minutes for the coffee and it would have been longer but for the waiter wandering past and finally remembering that we had actually ordered and paid. They seemed to be very dis-organised. Having said that, I will come back and try the food... More

We had the most perfect and relaxing Christmas lunch at Small Holdings in Malmsbury yesterday. The beautifully presented restaurant, absolutely superb food and exceptional friendly and welcoming ambience that Small Holdings is famous for made our Christmas Day one of the best! Well done and thank you to all!!!

Old churches turned into accommodation creep me out. Finally found the perfect use of a pretty little church, set in the beautiful town of Malmsbury. Nothing pretentious, just good food/wine a great feel in a nicely furnished space, cold larder set in the middle of the room, tasteful individual spaces throughout. David is a class act, simple straightforward menu, a... More

It's been a pretty seamless takeover since the new management took over from the original team that set up Small Holdings as a delightful destination for breakfast, lunch and dinner in quaint little Malmsbury. Well done! No small feat to match the welcoming atmosphere, tasty food and value for money. The menu is small (I know I'm using that word... More

Although a relaxed and unrushed service can be a pleasant change from the rush and pace of city restaurants there is a limit, and a one hour wait for service on a quiet day was very frustrating. There seemed to be a lack of urgency to provide table service and it was obvious our group were becoming quite irritated as... More

We always drop into Small Holdings when we get the chance for a meal or just a coffee. Friendly, friendly staff with passion, topped off with seriously good food, coffee or cake.
