I can't believe such a traditional hainanese coffee still exist. Extremely highly recommended to pay a visit for such old town environment, hardly forget!!!!
there's very few places where i've been where i wished i hadn't been there in the first place. this isn't one of them... i found this place based on reviews from tripadvisor. all 6 of them. so naturally i was curious and during one of...the trips i made to alor gajah, i decided to check this place out. i have to admit my expectations were rather low because i know nothing about food places in alor gajah. but when i was greeted by the owner, my first impression of the place changed immediately! he was warm, friendly and funny. he was recommending food he plans to introduce next month like we were regulars. and that sealed it for me. i was taken by his confidence. we had chicken chop, char kuay teow, hokkien noodles, half boiled eggs & toast and boy did we enjoyed it all! there was nothing not to like about the food they served & the atmosphere just added to the charming little place. i may have found my permanent eating haunt in alor gajah. it seems that i will have to pay this place a visit a little more often in the future...More
must try their hainam styles chicken chop, crispy outside, juicy inside. Dont forget to try their tonic soup also, once you try , hari hari mau.
The atmosphere is definitely worth a visit. The good is good but dont expect super delicious stuff! The service is quite messy and slow.
Rating 5 must try n u never regret best coffee n roti bakar n my friend likes their mee goreng. Do not missed it if u travelling to melaka. All my friends loved it
In Alor Gajah town, this is one of the 2 old traditional Hainanese coffee shop. The other, their neighbour, opens for business in the mornings, whilst this shop opens for business in the afternoon. So, they are not really competitors. As this caters for lunch...and tea time, they do have mixed rice, Hainanese chicken chop, bread and butter and soft boiled eggs. Drinks too is very typical Hainanese style. This shop's specialty is their herbal soup. The owner is a very friendly person. Ordered Hainanese chicken chop and Hainanese tea. The Hainanese chicken chop was perfect. The gravy is just enough, not too much not too little. That way get to taste the chicken chop meat and the gravy and not too overwhelming on either one. The Hainanese tea is really good, where it is not too milky Definitely will come back for morewhenever in Alor Gajah townMore
The kopishop is very popular among the locals, beside Hainamese foods they also sell economy mix rice. The owner is friendly, place is old but reasonably clean. The herbal soup is pretty tasty, worth a try. The Hainamese chicken chop is up to the standard...except sauce slightly on sour side and green peas are hard. The pepper hot fry noodle is salty to my taste. Overall 3.5 Stars.More
