This tavern is fun, it is full of character - a Scottish theme - with Scottish memorabilia around. There are different bars and a garden. It was extremely busy when we visited and we expected a long wait for our food, but this was really not bad and we were impressed with the service. The good is "pubgrub" excellent and... More

Went here with family on St. Patrick's Day. Very family friendly. Good food. Bringing mates there tonight. Love to ride the ferry over from the CBD and walk up the hill to go there.

I live pretty close to the tavern and have been there a number of times. I really like the atmosphere of the grounds and the building as this is a historical house in one of the best suburbs of the North Shore. The service is good, nothing exceptional, neither the food is amazing....just a typical kiwi pub, nothing fancy, however... More

The tavern was a little difficult to find but in a pleasant location. The prices were reasonable but the food was not as outstanding as we've had at other pubs. My lamb and veg pie was quite tasty but nothing special and my husband didn't rate his chipotle ribs that highly, plus he felt the chips were tasteless. Staff were... More

A pub with a good old public bar (very male dominated ladies!!) and with a good garden for families, but my love is the food. An excellent menu, well prepared, well presented and delicious. This is certainly a place to visit.

The Northcote Tavern is a fine example of a locals pub, with a fine array of beers wines and spirits..A large fenced garden is a great place to take the family, and dogs..and it's always drenched in sunlight.. The food ,ordered from a separate counter,is excellent and very good value.. All in all,a great place to eat and drink..

Fabulous place especially for lunch - kids are spoilt for entertainment in a big open field with heaps of space to play. Outside and inside areas to sit - several nooks and crannies - in the sun, semi shaded and fully shaded. Heaps of space for large groups, family gatherings would be awesome. Service is great, food is fabulous for... More

Very enjoyable pub lunch ... lots of outside space for two small boys ... lovely presentation of fish'n'chips in look alike frying baskets complete with "newspaper" from the 1930's ... a very relaxing lunch just over the bridge ... and yummy, too!

Acting on previous reviews, we found Northcote Tavern just over the Harbor Bridge. As it was a family lunch with small boys, it was an ideal situation. Service was prompt and wait staff cheerful and obliging. The menu range was as expected for a tavern but reasonably priced, as was the round of drinks. A sunny day and plenty of... More
