We were visiting the Northumberland coast again and had a relative visiting with us from North Carolina so The Ship Inn was on the MUST DO list. It did not disappoint, some say the menu is limited well I would have to agree it is limited to quality local produce. Nothing went back to the kitchen ALL plates were licked... More

Visited three times in last two weeks - limited minus but excellent quality food and beer. Recommend kipper pate and steak. Very dog friendly so if you don't like dogs when yiu eat don't go.

We enjoyed a couple of good ales before a walk on the adjacent beach. What a lovely spot. The pub itself has a rustic charm with a nice selection of beers. Being brewed on the premises a bonus. Obviously a popular location for visitors I think booking for food advisable. We were after 2 pm so didn't eat, can only... More

Walked across the fantastic beach from craster for lunch The weather was great and we sat outside with a great view of the beach Both the food and local beer (brewed on site) were fantastic and we will certainly visit both the area and pub again

Came here because it was recommended to me on two separate occasions. Took some finding and we would never have found it otherwise. Was absolutely brilliant though. The beer is brewed on site and is lovely. The crab sarnies are not cheap but they are worth every penny. The location is also stunning. So basically, if you get a chance,... More

We arrived about 11.45 on a Thursday over Easter to discover every table outdoors was full. Not a disaster as there were tables inside. By 12 there was a queue out the door - literally! and not a table left inside. Only one person was serving at the bar, whilst intermittently sticking her head through the back door and kitchen... What ever else you do on the north east coast make sure you pay this pub a visit. The crab is always delicious but does go quick so get there early. The beer is excellent with the micro brewery on site. No food miles here
