Food was cold when served, there was a lot of noise and they made us wait too long to pay before we could leave. I would find another better place. I don't know how this place has that good rating?? 🤔
Made reservations to celebrate anniversary for family members. I don’t speak Italian so there was miscommunication and we arrived early. The owner was gracious and allowed us to wait until they opened, serving wine and appetizers. The atmosphere is excellent, they source many things themselves,...and the food was superb. Will return if family members remain in nearby Perugia.More
Male Waiter was terrible. We spend 130€ and they stop us from enjoying a bottle of water outside in a sunny day. Do not recommend this place at all. Unless you want to spend time to deal with arrogant water
My family and I came here for dinner twice on our fortnight long holiday in July. The pastas and gnocchi sagrantino were delicious and the ribs we had for secondi (twice!) were mouthwateringly melt in the mouth. Excellent wine list (had a great Biondi Santi...Rosso) and nice desserts in a pretty outdoor setting rounded it all off!More
This is one of those gems you really thank Tripadvisor for. We were on our way from Ancona to Orvieto and decided to stop for lunch along the way. This was one off the options and boy was it worth the extra few kilometres! Some...of the best food we had during this trip and incredibly cheap (3 people €50). This will absolutely be a mandatory stopover next time.More
Delicious and fresh food, generous portions, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere.... absolutely recommended!
Very handy for Perugia airport; also a great place for us to stop when driving between Tuscany and the Marche. Excellent food, amazing selection of wines, always seems to be well-patronised by locals. We seem to come here a lot.
We are there one evening, we were in four. My wife and I, and a couple of our friend We had a special dinner, we ate a very good tagliata, amazing redwine and good service!
We traipsed from the airport - with our cases, after a Ryanair four hour delay announced on arrival at the airport - to get a table for two and Dell'Orso was full. This made us hungry so next time (i.e. a year later) we booked...and it was indeed a great place. You could see why Italians had all driven there for a Sunday lunch. Great food, they speak some English (though usually the best places don't!)More
Situated in the southern environ of Perugia, toward Assisi, this romantic little hideaway just outside of the little town of San Egidio will call you back time and again. It is intimate in the wintertime, given its welcoming fireplace in the dining area; and a...special good weather treat outside on the covered lawn on a hill overlooking Perugia over pastures, cypress and olive groves. In fact, you park in one of the latter. My recommendation would be to include the signature ‘Spaghetti dall Taverna’ as your prima. As a Perugia resident of many years, I would challenge anyone to present me a more delightful, tasty and light, carbonara. It is arguably the best in the land! Meats are a dream and prepared perfectly to taste. Portions are uncharacteristically generous. A well prepared list of local wines enhances an already special experience. Don’t leave without sampling the dolce. I look forward to both your thanks for the recommendation, and yet another visit soon.More
My go to place when I don't want surprises; menu doesn't change much, but then again you don't change a winning Horse. I prefer to eat on Lunch time outside, when the weather consents it, because the view is fantastic and its just a waste...to eat inside (which i reserve for evenings :D) A family oriented restaurant (almost all members of the restaurant are family!), the portions are Huge, you might as well order a plate for two. My go to menu starts with a good appetiser (Antipasto), usually the one that has a selection of them all (tavoliere), gallops to a Primo, various selection of pasta with sauces (sugo) to choose from, with the gran finale of a meat course Agnello Ubriaco or Tagliata al Tartufo. Obviously accompanied with a Good Red Wine (the waiter can help you choose, he's an Enologo :D)More
We didn’t know what to expect as arrived early but by 7.35 the restaurant was beginning to fill up and for good reason. Make sure you arrive hungry! We chose the excellent meal for two with the most delectable and varied antipasti followed by delicious...tagliatelle with truffle- never tasted before- but an amazing taste. Beef steak was succulent and very good quality with scrumptious roasties. Yet there was more! We could choose any of the desserts on menu for this inclusive price of 45 euros per couple. Amazing value and delightful service. We finished off with bottle of house wine - quaffable at only 8 euros. The Maitre D was attentive, efficient and good humoured. This restaurant deserves Michelin Stars. How can we thank you enough for this memorable experience in a beautiful setting overlooking the wooded hills of the countryside and a glorious sunset?More
We love this little restaurant. It is perched on the ridge north of the village, out in the country, overlooking Perugia Airport (which is very handy if you are meeting someone, or flying in or out). Showcasing Umbrian cuisine and wine, very popular with the...locals. If you are travelling between Perugia and Assisi, it is 10 minutes off the main road. Take the time to stop there for lunch - we have never been disappointed.More
We went there as a last minute resolution, based on the positive reviews. The menu was intriguing with lots of choices for appetizers, pasta dishes and main course. We weren't hungry, so we only had one pasta dish and a piccata to share. I got...the spaghetti della taverna - basically a carbonara with the addition of truffle- and my uncle got the pici cacio e pepe with guanciale and truffle. Both pastas were outstanding! We also loved the steak, cooked just right. Shout out to the staff: when we got there they were fully booked. They told us to go check out the castle of the nearby town.... not to wait for a table to clear out. They called us when the table was ready. Very friendly and efficient staff. It was much a better meal than the ones we had downtown Perugia, and cheaper too! highly recommendedMore
