Recommended this place by our hotel receptionist. Looking for the best paella in the region and we found it! Recommend you go early evening or make a reservation. We got a bus from Marineland in Portals Nous at 1745 and the last bus left Es...Capdilla at 21.20. Very cheap journey. Plenty of time to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. Lovely staff and the food was superb as was the service. Highly recommend.More

Popular with cyclists, Bar Nou is a traditional village cafe set on the Main Street in Es Capdella. It provided an excellent coffee stop after our walk from Paguera. Outdoor seating available.

Come here very often as I am a keen hiker, so just before or after a hike around the Galatzo area (another must ) we come here for breakfast and lunch. Friendly service, sometimes they can be very busy but they give it their best...and are always very friendly and professional. All the food is delicious and fresh, they also do take away if you don't have time to stop and sit down.More

Very dissatisfied. We reserved a table for 5 in advance. We arrived on time at 8. 30 pm and swiftly ordered our dishes. 2 Galician steaks, 1 roasted lamb, grilled Calamari and Swordfish. Upon arrival the restaurant was half empty. More than ONE hour later...we were told by the waitress that they were out of steak and roasted lamb. Really? It took the restaurant staff one hour to figure that out?? We were rather upset and disappointed about this late call. The waitress did offer a weak apology coated with a shoulder shrug and enlightened is that we are in Spain and thus shouldn’t expect any better.Sounds a bit like treason from a trite rebel stuck in the wrong province. We asked what the quickest meal was which the one man show in the kitchen could punch out. Grilled lamb chops we were told. No more than 10 min it should take. 15 min later we received the lamb. Mostly bone with very little meat. Sad! The calamari tasted of gasoline and the swordfish was so bland that no one could remember the flavour. Avoid this scam of a restaurant!More

I've been living in Mallorca for over 20 years now and have been to Bar Nou several (to say the least) times. Food has always been great for the price and you won't get a more traditional Mallorquin cusine anywhere else.

Our Spanish friends booked a table for the 4 of us last night. Capdellà , being the middle of nowhere, but was very busy so fully understand why booking is advisable. Definitely a mix of locals and tourists enjoying this Mediterranean cuisine. The menu was...not too extensive or expensive ensuring ingredients would be fresh and they are. Without going into too much detail I do recommend trying some of the mallorquin dishes as they were fabulous be it starter or main. All done to perfection and large platefuls so don’t be too ashamed if you share main course if already had chosen too many starters. They are too willing to put into plastic containers anything you can’t finish. The restaurant is clean , fresh and modern with knowledgeable staff and good service. We actually parked the car beside Calvià sports Centre and walked the 2km up the road as a nice night. The walk back after the fantastic meal was much needed and the bonus of a slight cooler breeze , clear sky with moon and stars added to it. Then back to Magaluf only 9km away.More

Bar Nou is a local restaurant serving good value, well cooked Mallorcan food. The portions are big so as a table of 4 we shared Tapas style starters. Padron peppers and a tuna salad both simple & delicious! We all had a mixed paella &...couldn’t eat it all. Waiter did offer to box it up without any request. We did however manage to eat an almond cake with almond ice-cream which was divine! Admittedly we had all cycled 35 miles in the hills that day so did justify it to ourselves. Service was spot on with friendly and efficient waiters. Homemade digestif courtesy of the house rather nice too! Booked to go back! I’d recommend you try for yourselves Es Capdella is a lovely little place Admittedly the restaurant doesn’t have a coastal view but who cares if the food is simple but delicious. And the sound of the village church bells chiming is much more authentic Mallorca.More

Had a brilliant lunch. Shared a Frito Mallorquin, very tasty, large. Then we had a mixed paella. Made fresh, takes thirty Minutes, well worth the wait, huge, couldn’t eat it all. Very authentic. Would highly recommend a visit but would stress it pays to book as...very busy. €46 for two including bread, a beer, a large glass of red wine, water and two coffees.More

An avid cyclist who has explored the entire island and culinary scene in Mallorca recommended Bar Nou. He told us it was authentic food, prepared and served like mama would at home. No fancy presentation and no pretension. He was right. The food was very...good and really authentic. I love snails and these were as fresh and wild as you get, piled high. Not the delicate preparation I'm accustomed to, served in an escargot dish. This was like home. Portions are large!More

The restaurant is quite crowded, until 3 p.m. with tourists, after that the Mallorquins come. The food is fine, portions are large. The fish was a little on the dry side. BUt the prices are moderate. The restaurant is just next to a quite busy...street, but the narrowness does not permit fast driving.More
