I leave in the suburb so this is a bit of a local haunt. Brunch is my favourite, and while I am tempted by other things, can never seem to go past the boiled eggs and toast soldiers. Dinners invariably offer something/s quintessentially French, but plenty of variety. Convenience is one thing; good food and a good time out is... More

Enjoyed an early meal here - quirky food offerings, well-cooked, prompt and friendly service. Perhaps a tad pricey for wine and water, but otherwise just great.

Three others and myself attended the Brasserie at 7:45pm on 21 January 2017. We were greeted by a young man who was pleasant, took us to a table and proceeded to explain the menu and specials...standard service I would say...he did say that the kangaroo special was sold out...I thought, this early....that's strange but left it at that. We proceeded... More

A rather disappointing experience. We took advantage of the early bird offer of two courses for $46. Waited a long time for the main. I had fettucine with prawns which were overcooked. Nothing special. My wife had Peach Melba for dessert. It was made with tinned peaches and an awful lot of over-whipped cream. Wine prices are exorbitant. Cutlery oversized.... More

Pulp Kitchen in suburban Ainslie provides more than a vague comparison with a French brasserie; pity there is not a bustling boulevard with tables facing into the passing throng and one could feel it is the real deal. A pre-Christmas family dinner with members drawn locally and from Melbourne and Gold Coast, lots of chat, good food and wine, warm... More

A French Australian styled cuisine, beautifully presented, creative and challenging and delicious. Definitely a cut above the rest. I suggest ordering several entrée dishes to share and skip ordering mains. Almost all the dishes come in entrée size and this way you get to taste a good range. Maybe even take a chance on one of the more challenging dishes.

On arrival and being shown to the table and there were 2 dead flies on the table. Staff was ok. Menu had numerous choices. Garlic bread for starters was just sliced sourdough bread with garlic butter but was not even grilled. I was disappointed with my chicken breast main. Servings are small and not worth the $36 price tag. Overall... More

This was our 2nd time at Pulp Kitchen and it was very disappointing. $36 steak overcooked and served with skinny packaged fries??? Only 6 oysters left at 7.15 at night and the other appetisers and main were ordinary. hopefully this isn't another case of a restaurant living off of its past successes..

Middle of the week but very busy, just as well I booked. Totally unpretentious, decor so la la but the place was humming and full of live. The menu was very French inspired and very unusual items to pick which made it difficult or another trip in the future. Foie gras was excellent and we had Lambs tongue and calfs... More

My friend and I recently enjoyed Sunday lunch here. The menu is not large, but there are also blackboard specials, and it's very good value. Of course, we ended up having all 3 courses - duck pate and goat's cheese souffle to start, followed by Spanish mackerel and the gnocchi, and both of us had the fig ice cream for... More
