Nice food. Different to the Indian types of curries: entrees were different (and nice). The mains were nice and good quality. Its worth being forward in seeking service here though, as it seemed we were forgotten a few times, though once we got attention, our...More

Dear Sir, Thank you for visiting our restaurant on Tuesday. Last Tuesday we had only 12 bookings between 6 pm and 6.30pm and we had two staff on duty one at 5.30pm and the other starting at 6.30 pm which was enough to handle the...More

We arrived at the restaurant for a late lunch. We were advised that they were closing in half an hour but are still serving. The menu had so many different selections on the menu that I was a bit confused. Curries, fish and chips, risotto,...More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. While investigating the issue my Manager remembered you well as it was a late lunch. We have a modern Sri Lankan and Australian menu. The soft drinks we serve are out of the cans. Every time one orders,...More

Came to this restaurant on a Saturday night, around 7pm. Staff were very friendly and professional. My wife had the string hoppers, and I had the pork black smores. Both were amazingly delicious, with a spicy heat that really sneaks up on you after a...More

First ever visit to Banana Leaf and I was not disappointed. They were very busy but the food was prompt. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the manager was incredibly hospitable. Both meals were excellent and of generous proportions. I will definitely be back.

The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We chose a range of traditional Sri Lankan and modern cuisine. Each was beautifully presented and flavourful. Desert of chocolate mouse, Love Cake and Mango Melba were a perfect finish.

Dear Guest, With regulars like you this place kept a float during the financial crisis etc. Ours is one of the only restaurants that survived hard times. With no paid advertisements of the restaurant to date, surviving only on word of mouth advertising, we have...More

I dined at Banana Leaf on a Tuesday night. It was half full of Canberran business/government men. I overheard the conversation at the table near me - they were clearly regulars and clearly devotees. I ordered the Sri Lankan style rice and curry. It was...More

The menu is varied in choice of genuine Sri Lankan curry types as well as in the type of meat, and also includes quite a selection of vegetarian curries. The spiciness varies, but is generally spicy without being overly so. The staff were friendly and...More
