Heaps of choice of fresh fish to cook at home. We got the $35 family basket - nice variety, plenty to eat, fast service, great taste. A good way to end a day out in the town before heading home again.

Thank Paul W

This place is just about essential to visit if you are in the area and like fresh seafood. I bought takeaway as well as some fresh to take back home. Couldn't fault the freshness and the prices were great - even just before Good Friday. Outstanding variety, pick your own.

Thank Phil C
Management response:

Hi Phil - Thanks for taking the time to give us a nice review. We really appreciate it. I agree that we're an essential place to visit if you are in Coffs Harbour - best place to see the harbour and you can watch the action for free (when the fishermen come in). I'm glad we delivered you high quality... More

Grabbed some takeaway here. Was very busy. Ordered the basket for two. The battered fish was delicious. Calamari was also good and not chewy. Definitely a good spot to grab some fish and chips or fresh seafood.

Thank E5891
Management response:

Thank you for your kind review. I'm glad to hear we are getting the calamari right and that you had a nice lunch down on the water. It was a beautiful day for it. More

Service was fast and friendly. My fish and chips arrived in about five minutes despite being quite a few people there. It was hot and tasty and very filling. Will be back. Note: They charged me a public holiday fee even though Easter Saturday is not a public holiday.

Thank Easyover6908
Management response:

Thanks for the nice review. I'm glad you had good service and food, as our aim is to give great customer service. Unfortunately Easter Saturday (as well as Good Friday, Sunday, and Monday) are all public holidays in NSW. So it was a public holiday, which means we have to charge a 10% holiday surcharge to make it worth opening... More

Fed a family of 4 for $34 and we couldn't finish it all despite the kids very healthy appetites. Plenty of variety of fish with chips, scallops, calamari. Very nice but very filling. Should order less next time

It's great to hear that we are providing good value for money and good quality seafood. Thanks for making us aware of the excessive portion sizes. I will be sure to raise this with our Manager, as I don't there to be waste. More

We had the" special" whiting supposedly coated in parmesan batter.I couldn't taste any parmesan cheese and it was greasy.we waited 15 to 20 minutes for our order, I don't think i will return again.

1 Thank Vicki M
Management response:

Sorry to hear of your disappointment. The parmesan batter is a bit different than the normal batter or crumb that we do. Because it has cheese in it, the melted cheese has a certain effect that some people really like, and others don't. As for the wait, the Easter Holiday weekend is a very busy time which can make a... I had takeaway for dinner and with the exception of the flake, was very impressed. The calamari was fresh and not rubbery at all, the prawn cutlets were large and first rate, They give you heaps of lemon slices, more than enough. But just as much as the food I loved the location. The shop is a very cool looking... More

Thanks for the great review. Seeing the action of the fishing boats can be hit and miss. One day there's a ton of action and the next day there can be none. Nonetheless if you get here around 7-8 in the morning, you will have the best chance to see the fishermen unload. Hope you get a chance to see... More

This is a good place for fresh reasonably priced seafood.the atmosphere is good as you can walk around to see the boats unloading their catch and then go onto Muttonbird Island if so inclined.

Hi Jim & Karen, Thank you for your nice review. I myself love to grab a fish and chips and head for a walk over to Muttonbird island (though it's best to eat the chips while they're still hot). Yes it's a real working harbour down here, and the fish that go from the boats into the back of the... More

Service at the Co-Op is friendly and helpful and the fish is MAGNIFICENTLY FRESH. If you have a special occasion coming up, the cooked lobster is absolutely delicious.

Nice fish - fresh. Nice location to eat it. A nice place to go for lunch, right on the marina. You buy uncooked seafood as well to cook at home.

The Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operative Takeaway offers the best fish & chips in town. Our covered dining deck is a hub of activity every day of the week, popular with locals and visitors alike. On a sunny day customers have the option of sitting at the outdoor tables overlooking the fishing vessels, or taking a picnic walk to Muttonbird island.

Our menu includes fish & chips, calamari, prawns, fish cocktails, salt & pepper squid, grilled fish, battered fish and crumbed fish to mention a few options. Each day there is a Specials Board indicating the daily catch in seafood (subject to availability). If your choice remains unsatisfied, you may choose any fresh seafood you like, and we will cook and prepare it to your liking for a small fee.

We use mono-unsaturated cooking oil which is changed regularly.

To complement our seafood, you will find a large variety of ice cream, including high quality scoops in waffle cones. We invite both adults and children to enjoy a delicious refreshing snack on any day. Chilled soft drinks and bottled water are available for purchase.

The takeaway caters to group bookings as well as individual customers and families. We encourage you to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal.

We are open from 9 AM to 7 PM almost every day of the year.
