Whilst exploring the Rocks area of Sydney we stumbled across this little gem - best way I can describe it is like having tea in your Nan's house. It is a brilliant place to come to - especially if you want a taste of home. Try the jugs of iced tea and you won't be disappointed. It's really good value... More

Going to the Tea Cozy was on my wish list, as I walked by it on a day it was closed and after checking it out, wanted to go for 'Devonshire Tea.' And I got my wish; it is a lovely spot in The Rocks area of Sydney and located in an older home. We went early on a Sunday,... More

Cannot fault the beautiful devonshire tea. Plentiful double cream, homemade jam (rhubarb and ginger awesome), good sized scones and tea served in pots with cosies. Must yry the mango iced tea! Only downfall was lack of any service from the waitresses.

I have been to The Tea Cosy many times over the last several months. This is a traditional tea room, serving a variety of scones and teas, with pre-packaged loose teas of several varieties. It is located adjacent to the weekend bazaar on George Street, close to the south end of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Quiet and stately, I would... More

Being a Sydney resident, I've been going to The Tea Cosy for a few years now. They serve the best Devonshire Tea I know off in Sydney, great scones with double thick cream and jam - yum! If you're visiting from interstate or overseas I highly recommend. When my Mum visits I always have to take her there, it's one... More

A nice spot to stop for lunch or tea when at the rocks. It gets busy but once you are seated it is very peaceful.

I visited the Tea Cosy a couple of years ago whilst on a business trip. I made such a song and dance about it to my wife when I got back that I promised I would take her the next time we returned to Sydney. We visited yesterday, it was great to see that it w as good as ever... More

Great place to sit back and relax with a homemade scone and jelly. Nice selection of teas. Nice portions of coffee. Unique environment with teapots everywhere in sight.

Visiting Sydney this weekend and have been here twice now (have been on a previous visit aswell). Scone are hot fresh and delicious with homemade jam and fresh cream! Highly recommend! Atmosphere is cute and fun (knitting on the tables!). Coffee is decent. Overall a lovely spot that we will come to again and again!

This is a cute little place with delicious tea and fresh scones. You can even knit while you enjoy your tea. Will definitely be back.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
