Obviously Sydney's favourite Yum Cha, very hectic .Don't have breakfast, leave early ,and you will still have to line up. Generous, yummy dishes, prawn dumplings delicious, grab what's ever on the trolley, all good. Not cheap. A group of us went back to the hotel...More

Chaotic and average, very run of the mill food, service a bit warm like the food, no dish was exceptional, much hype, little substance to it, disappointed.

This restaraunt is extremely popular and busy. We arrived at 11:15am and there was a que of approx 25 people, lucky for us it was moving fast. If you are there for Yum-cha it starts at 10am to 2pm. Once seated, trays of food come...More

We've been going to The Eight for many years however, we are finding that the quality and service is slowing falling. Upon being seated on a slow Monday morning (11:30) we waited 5 or so minutes to not be asked what tea we would like....More

We waited 2 hours for our food. The food is usually good, but to wait thus long left us gobsmacked. Never again will I go here

Went for Dim Sum on the recommendation of a local. The restaurant is huge and extremely busy. The trolleys come around regularly with an array of dumplings, noodles, vegetables etc. We had more to eat than necessary including deserts and everything was excellent. I will...More

This restaurant is a busy place. We were a group of 5 and needed time to decide what to order. The staff were friendly and patient, until an older waiter - possibly the owner - he actually walked around as if he owned the place.He...More

How do you charge per dish for yum cha on Sunday? I ate at one table by myself and only ordered one dish - a fried prawn dumpling. Was charged $10.30 for it. I am really shocked. Alex

That's probably about right. We ate there today. Had 7 dishes plus tea and it was just over $70. Quality food though. I would say this is on par with Mr Wong and there you can pay up to $18 for a steam basket of 4 dumplings.
