This is such a cute little place. We had our blinders on and walked past the entrance door twice but found it in the end. It was pretty warm in there when we first got there but it cooled down once a few people left. The atmosphere was great and so were food and drinks. The place is tiny and... More

Went for a work dinner with 14 others. While the company was excellent is was difficult to hear people - too many hard surfaces. I would not return, the food was over priced, self indulgent and I could only describe the wait staff as self important.

Italian food is by far my favourite and I had a rather good meal about 12 months ago here so I suggested we try it again. I was very disappointed we chose to go with the chef's degustation at $75 a head and then received 4 dishes with pickled vegetables and even pickled mussels!! clearly the chef was experimenting or... Had an incredible long lunch here with friends. We went for the tasting menu with matching wines and loved it. The range of food was wonderful, the staff were just so helpful and friendly - I could not recommend this restaurant too highly.

Pleasant surprise discovery. Beautiful food, charming wait staff. Stylish. If you're lucky you might get an entire pig carcass carried past your table as you lunch :-)

I can't believe that I have just discovered this Italian gem. It is wonderful. The staff are extremely helpful, giving great advice on what to drink and food to order. The food was sensational. We hear that the menu changes weekly. We will be back! This restaurant is tucked away in a laneway with the door not being obvious, so... More

Well what a find. I was starting to think I was in the wrong place, but then I found it. In a side street away from touristville, you have to know it's there. Amazing food, padron pepper starter and a half portion of lamb ragu with aubergine (that was plenty). Simply Devine. Sat at the bar and chatted with friendly... More

We were staying in an apartment next door to Berta and discovered it walking by the first evening. It isn't obvious as the front door looks like another apartment building but once you go in and walk down the passage it soon becomes clear that this gem of a restaurant is buzzing! I was travelling with a friend and we... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
