La Banette does terrific pastries and cakes and tarts and other goodies that can be packaged and taken to family and friends as treats. Favourites are éclairs and croissants. You can eat in, as well.

All the good sweet things are here and they are all very tasty. Love the smell of the bread and whatever they are always cooking inside.

Just back from a month in France and I can honestly say that this place makes better coffee eclairs than any I tried over there! However, their mille fueille is probably my favourite treat here, although the lemon meringue tarts come very close. Its a lovely spot to sit and enjoy your treat with a great cup of coffee. Their... A really lovely place with a lovely staff :) Any time I show up they already know what I want and I know a lot of other patrons has the same experience. In my opinion the pies, pastries and breads are the best in Sydney from what I tasted even though I mostly jump in for my coffee and hot... More

I should have read before the review posted previously which was talking about the rude Asian girl. I confirm that she is very rude and abrupt. How dare she to hurry you up seeing that the prices are pretty high as it is a traditional bakery and it wasn't even busy. She has to understand that it is not a... More

This is my FAVOURITE place for morning coffee. Peter and Kim are so friendly, they remember your order ever week. The coffee is sensational, and the pastries? To die for!! Coffee eclair and their sourdough fruit loaf are some of my faves. I'll always come back here

If you are in need of amazing pastry, cakes or sandwiches this is the place to go. I haven't had better croissant in Sydney. Their breads are delicious. Chocolate croissant amazing, especially when it comes hot first thing in the morning. Almond croissant fantastic. The only thing I'd change is their ham and cheese croissant. I'd go back to basics... I am terribly fond of the chocolate croissants at La Banette and to date the best I have had in Sydney. Paired up with a coffee, they are absolute bliss. Two sizes - regular and a mini one if you only want a small indulgence. Their bacon and egg (with avo!) panini's are scrumptious as well. Their sausage rolls and... More

Overall this is an excellent place to go. Quality of the products is the best: everything is fresh and tastes delicious. From pastries to quiches the food is amazing. The coffee and hot beverages are lovely as well. In addition, the costumer service is really good. The staff is friendly and in good mood to serve. I am definitely looking... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
