The 3 course menu was outstanding. We had a crush on the desserts! The only exception was the BBQed Curly Kale which tasted like the burned bitterness of an old pan. However, the waiter told us it should be like this, and we are not the first ones feeling weird about it. The second thing we noticed was the unusual... More

We loved our evening at est. Wonderful restaurant with a straightforward approach to elegantly prepared food. The oysters were amazing. I had fish and mud bug, my husband loved the venison. The service was relaxed but appropriate. They were unfazed by our early arrival in decidedly touristy get ups and we were treated to a great evening. We also enjoyed... More

I took a friend for her birthday. The food delicious . I hate going to expensive restaurants were the wait staff think you should look up to them. This is not the case here. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming.I don't go to expensive restaurants often so it is a real treat when I go and Est lived up to... More

So we come in early without a reservation. We're seated and order off the menu as the 7 course tasting take at least 2 hours. (so we were told) Annoyingly we were the only customers in the restaurant and another couple came in and they sat them right next to us, did I say the place was EMPTY? The oysters... More

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and opted for the full degustation option. The meals were tasty with the exception of the scallop tartare which was too fishy. The best dish was the signature dish but it was nothing to write home about. The dishes were nice but not overly creative. The service was really good... More

A group of 4 friends dined at est. to celebrate a birthday and it was a truly memorable experience! The décor, comfort, food, wine, service and overall experience were sublime! A truly great restaurant and not sufficiently acknowledged. An experience - more than a dinner.

Came here with my partner for my birthday. The service was exceptional as to be expected. The food tasted great. Received a special treat at the end of dinner for my birthday too which was a nice touch. Close to Michelin star quality

We had already had a big lunch and fronted up, thinking that just a hamburger would be fine. No hamburgers on offer but excellent service along with fine dining and lovely decor. The service was exemplary and the spacing of the courses was great after we asked for a bit more time between courses. We struggled a bit with reading... More

The staff from the Sommelier (Paul) through the balance of the staff was highly professional. Food was creative and tasty. On a scale let's say they are at 90% of 11 Madison

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
