The Kurtosh (chimney cakes) tasted so good and reminded me of the ones I had in Europe! Also friendly service & went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. They had run out of what we ordered so gave us some extra cookies on the house while we waited for our Kurtosh!

This is a great place for a relaxing tea or coffee. The selection of cakes is next to none. Great selection and they taste as good as they look.

When we heard that there was a place that sells the Hungarian chimney-cakes, we HAD to check it out. We've only had this pastry once before and were hooked from the first bite, so our expectations were high (like a chimney...ha). We were not disappointed! Delicious pastries, cozy interior and friendly staff. I hope to return next time when I... More

This is quite a cool place that hasn't disappeared up its own pretentiousness. Fare is tasty and simple with a twist. You don't really see the types of cakes and savouries they make very often. Recommended

Being Hungarian I was quite curios of this place. Though it's not 100% Hungarian but rather a nice mix of Aussie culture with Hungarian I enjoyed our visit a lot. I especially loved the cherry poppy seed cake as well as a Kürtösh. I can recommend this cafe for a nice coffee break with something really delicious on the side.

The selection of cakes and tarts are pretty good, and I really like the idea of buying as much cake as you like and paying based on weight, because some places are really skimpy with slices. The place itself is weirdly set out and there's not much space on the tables. Overall it was ok.

It is a hard decision picking what Cake you are going to get for your 30th birthday. By accident (they had some sample pieces on the top of the cake stand), I found it. Poppyseed & Sour Cherry crumble. It was the best cake I have ever tasted, right up my alley. The perfect combination of sweetness mixed with that... More

My father would ask me as a teenager if something I was eating was worth the calories. In this place, it definitely is! Love the variety and the ability to choose how big a piece to get. Definitely worth a visit or two...

This is a great cafe in the main shopping strip in Surrey Hills (see how to get there below). I was rather tempted to start at one end of the counter and try all the cakes and pastries on display. It was very hard to choose and I don't normally have a sweet tooth. The pastries are in large slabs... More
