While spending a couple of weeks in Sydney we made it to Bill's for breakfast and lunch. They are famous for their Ricotta hotcakes and for good reason. Served with honeycomb butter and banana these hotcakes are great for breakfast, lunch or as dessert. Not to be missed!

When I came to sydney I really wanted to try Ricotta Pancakes (not something I've seen in the states yet). I googled places and this restaurant came up. The service was friendly, the coffee amazing and I had the best pancakes I could've asked for! Absolute must for breakfast!

I took a taxi from the city that cost about A$15 as I HAD TO eat at Bills - great choice! Fluffy ricotta pancakes and pillowy scrambled eggs. Very Aussie and funky juices - nothing boring like plain apple or orange juice :) Gets crowded, share a table, then walk it all off

On a recommendation from regular Sydney visiting friends, we stopped by here for breakfast. I had the avo on sourdough with the optional poached egg and coriander - perfectly done, and delicious. He had the bacon on brioche roll. We both had a juice, and I had a great flat white. Whilst it's pricy by British standards, the food was... More

We had a really nice lunch here. Despite being crowded, it wasn't overly noisy and the food arrived fairly quickly. I didn't try the famous ricotta pancakes but the salad I had was incredible. It was a very expensive salad (about $20), but very delicious. The coffee was also perfectly brewed. I didn't regret the cost.

Given Bills premium price point, we arrived for breakfast expecting above average service, a modern Australian menu, and great coffee. Unfortunately, this was not to be. Even though the restaurant was not busy we waited too long for our warm weak coffees to arrive, our breakfast order to be taken, and food to be served. I have never before been... More

Me and my husband were at a hotel nearby in February and March when we read about Bills. We decided to try it our first morning on our trip to Australia.... wow we LOVE IT!! It's not just the food, it's the people, the guests, the staff, the look of the place and feeling. I could only describe it as... More

I used to love this place. Ricotta pancakes; corn fritters; scrambled eggs. Sounds strange now but bills made these dishes Sydney classics. Hmm I ordered a chopped salad which was plain rude with its lack of love and imagination. Friend ordered corn fritters which I helped with for research purposes. Too much batter and not as nice as I remember... More

fine, nothing special, good quality food, especially if you're looking for "healthy food", but really nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. the service was good and the place is small but looks inviting.

Good ambience but overrated for its food - ok quality but expensive . Good place for names and celebrities, saw Tania P walking out as we were going in.

Description
Bills Darlinghurst, this is where it all began, in 1992. The miniscule kitchen and tiny dining room in one of Darlo's old backstreet pub buildings, serving just a blackboard-menu breakfast and lunch, set the tone for bills still does today. Local by-laws allowed only a few seats - hence the now much-copied communal table where everyone eats together, reading the newspaper or striking up a conversation with the person enjoying scrambled eggs next to them. Today, it's still a simple Sydney corner cafe, serving a menu of bills classics.
