After hellish storms pummeled Sydney the day before, it was with nervous anticipation that we confirmed our place as guests at the season launch of a major Sydney football club season launch, held at The Italian Village. Our fears were put to rest when Sydney decided to apologize for it's dreadful show the day before - a gloriously mild and... More

I'm surprised by the other reviews stating the lack of canapes and drink - all I remember seeing are waiters passing with trays of food. The canapes were lvoely to - a variety of prawns, meat, fish and chips, arancini balls, etc, as well as a good selection of sweet canapes such as truffles and macaroons. The bar downstairs always... I was surprised when I contacted them a few weeks before NYE to discover that tickets were still available. This is simply because they didn't capacity restrict and simply sold as many as possible. The advertised product was an open bar with canapés. Getting any food was close to impossible as you couldn't even walk around due to the volume... More

This place is not somewhere a local would eat, it's overpriced and caters for hungry tourists who want to eat quickly or don't know where to go.

I had booked for six of us to attend the Italian Village NYE party which was bout $255 per person. Interior was really beautiful and added the the 'italian village' feel but ventilation was so poor that we all felt like we were melting due to the humidity. I'm not sure if they thought this through to have sold as... More

Atmosphere was beautiful , great views, not too loud, spacing between tables is good Food - over priced for the what you get in terms of flavour and quality. I guess you are paying extra money for the views not for the food. The food is not terrible at all, if this was my local and priced at local prices... More

Our Christmas Party was held at this beautiful Italian Village Restaurant. We have been there many times before. We keep going back, because the service is quick, friendly and very professional. The menu is absolutely divine and so are their wines. Absolutely beautiful ambience and overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, can't get better then that.

We had wanted to go to the Italian Village Restaurant on the recommendation of local friends who have been there numerous times in the past. It is still there but looks like it is only doing events and even though me being in Australia is an event unto itself, alas not the kind of event they cater to. I must... More

Description
We regret to advise, Italian Village is no longer a restaurant but continues to operate as a venue. Boasting Sydney's most spectacular views of the iconic Opera House, Italian Village combines rustic charm with warm service, delivering guests an appealing space for all occasions. This grand, historic 18th century sandstone building features many distinctive and character-filled private dining rooms, each perfectly designed for weddings, business events, engagements, christenings and birthday celebrations. This perfectly positioned function venue on the shores of Sydney Harbour at Campbell's Cove has exposed terracotta and sandstone walls, timber detailing and atmospheric lighting.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
