Arriving in Sydney Harbour our cruise ship Pacific Jewel docked at the wharf at Circular Quay. We met with friends for a long lunch overlooking the harbour activity and virtually under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We stayed well past the stated lunch period enjoying a stunning menu and a choice of red wines. It was an easy walk from the... More

Since lunching at The Waterfront I've checked out a number of less than complimentary reviews on this restaurant and found a lot of similarity to the experience my wife and I had on Boxing Day. Firstly, the food was generally good although my wife had to return her Caesar Salad because it was so ridiculously overdressed it was inedible -... More

On a very busy Friday night Circular Quay is a buzz with people and food. The Waterfront is a great place to catch up with Friends and enjoy the delights of Sydney Harbour . Great selection of food and a great wine List....Highly recommend this place, plus the View is outstanding.

Recently celebrated a special occasion for friends in the Spinnaker Room within The Waterfront Restaurant. The menu was modern Australian & was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend it as a number 1 .

Booked through red balloon and found food better than expected. I had the steak, which was cooked exactly how ordered and my wife enjoyed her John Dory. The harbour view was great!

The best dining experience I have every had! The view of the opera house was outstanding and the restaurant was right on the waters edge. We had to wait around 30 minutes for a table but having turned up without a reservation of New Year's Day this was expected. Despite this, we were shown to a nice seated area around... More

D'ya know what? I knew this place was going to be a tourist trap - and I was expecting the worst. But I really enjoyed it!! The service was friendly and very attentive. The location and view phenomenal. And the food perfectly acceptable - in fact pretty good. Tiger prawns to start - OK (if a little bit watery). Then... More

This restaurant is a tourist trap, great location and view , very average food. With the Pork belly Asian salad, I had to look hard to find the pork but in fact it was two pieces of streaky bacon on the bottom of the plate. One of my favourite dishes completely destroyed . The chef may need to consider a... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
