Good selection of seafood and other meals. Prawns, oysters etc.... Friendly & helpful staff. Good wine. Walking distance to c.quay. Make sure you book, we didn't and had to wait until 8pm. Was starting to get a bit late for us with an early flight...More

Not usually a fan of buffets but the Weekend Cocktail Lunch buffet did not disappoint at $125.00 per couple. Welcoming and friendly staff - fantastic start. Signature cocktail waiting by the door - fabulous. Tables nicely spaced out and prepared with finger bowls and receptacles...More

A very pleasant venue to enjoy dinner. Love their oysters, just give their sushi a miss. The lamb was great too, the guy who manned it, not so. Great value for money.

Nice setting at the restaurant, fresh seafood, good varieties. Just not too happy about the time sitting. You have to choose the sitting during of your meal when you book.

The seafood buffet showcased Sydney's fine selection of seafoods e.g. delicious mussels, prawns, Sydney Rock oysters etc., followed by hot pork roast and many other selections, then the dessert display.. the sticky date pudding outstanding. High recommend.

We love everything about the buffet lunch at Cafe Opera. Food is fresh, plentiful and fantastic quality. This buffet is renowned for its cold seafood but there are plenty of other options for non-seafood eaters. Salads are lovely and desserts are so delicious. The bottomless...More

Went to have the buffet breakfast as it has been rated quite highly. The high light for me would have been the scrambled eggs. Not sure how they do them but they were the creamiest, lightest, most amazing scrambled eggs I think I have had....More

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens

Wow I had very similar experience with the lady-it must be the same lady with the same attitude. All the other wait staff were lovely. I don't know whether they will post my review about my experience at Café Opera last night Thu 15 June 2017 She is just plain rude, She should not be in the service industry. Below is my review I just wrote-------------------------------------------------- I had the most appalling dining experience at Café Opera last night (Thu 15 June 2017) pre Vivid dinner with my family. I'm a Pescatarian (seafood eater) and have enjoyed Café Opera every time I had overseas visitors. Last night they only offered pan-fried (not a grilled whole fish type) barramundi and some calamari that were not refilled. So I waited then finally asked the young chef behind the roast station to see if it will ever come. The spot that had Calamari was replaced with plain Rotis telling me they ran out of squid! it was 6 30 pm and the place was half empty. I said how could you run out? This is called Seafood Buffet but you have only one hot fish dish other than cold seafood-the oysters were piled on top of all the shells randomly not so appetizing.., Finally when my children were having dessert already, a lady in suit came and argued in front of my whole family, " what are you talking about" when I asked her that they should offer more hot seafood dishes when they had more than a few red meat varieties and that the only other seafood dish- calamari dish disappeared. She was so rude and I was about to be rude back to her when my husband gave me a signal to leave. I have never left reviews in my life and this was so infuriating how she treated me that I decided to leave this episode as many websites as possible so that less people like myself get disappointed and pay for non sense service. She did offer to bring me a plate of calamari (when they already told me they ran out) just before we were leaving. Amazing service. I should have read all the recent negative reviews about Café Opera. I wonder if there was any way for the senior management to know about this type of incident..
