Beautiful spot especially for sunset over the harbour. Food was good and can't fault the staff but you will pay for the good experience!

We were lucky enough to be given a voucher for Christmas. I booked in December and couldnt get a Fri night or Sat night booking until July! So I went with an April booking for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted with 'happy anniversary' when we gave our name which was a lovely start and were taken upstairs to a... More

The staff and service at Quay was excellent, and the location and view was just wonderful. We had the 4 course dinner which was very good, however in truth we didn't feel it was as flavoursome as some of the top restaurants we have visited elsewhere, and so as much as we are glad that we went, we would be... We have eaten at Quay many times, often as guests, and always enjoyed the experience and food enormously, but never have we been with children. It must be the ultimate test of a restaurant, and the parents, to have children, 6 and 8, for a dinner. The parents came prepared, with some drawing material for the children who are well... More

My husband finally joined me and my mother, along with our 2 best foodie friends in Sydney, for dinner in Sydney after almost 4 days in town. We chose Quay because that was supposed to be one of the best in town. It was very good, but it wasn't the best in town for me--that honor goes to The Bridge... More

We booked this months before we left the UK and were so lucky to not only get a great window table but just as the fire works for fashion week went off. The service was super attentive and the staff could not do more. The menu looks varied but we found that some of the dishes seemed to blend into... More

I'm pleased to have had the experience of dining here with 6 friends last week, but don't think I would seek to repeat it. The ambience and views across to the Opera House are excellent, the multiple sommeliers were some of the best I have ever experienced, and the table service was impeccable and very obliging of various individual food... We're not serious foodies but wanted to try Quay after hearing all the hype. We were both left underwhelmed. The food is good but no better than you would find at many other quality restaurants. What surprised me most though (in a bad way) was the service. With the exception of one waiter, the staff gave the impression that working... More

Location excellent. Service fantastic. View beautiful. Food, quite good. However after 4 courses at $180 per person, I was still hungry. If not for the complimentary bread and butter at the start, I would have been even hungrier. The servings were tiny even by fine dining standards, each entire course was about a mouthful in total. So while it is... More

Our Son's and daughter-in-laws Wedding Reception was held at the Quay. It was a delightful experience where the food and the service was of a very high standard. The celebration was preceded by a good variety of finger food accompanied with Champagne. The menu set out was varied and the thirty odd guests were able to choose and savor an entrée,... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
