This is the perfect bar for an evening drink especially in the summer. Be aware though that it does get busy. Also if you need to see your guests off and get back up again you can't after closing time the lifts will be locked off to the top floors of the hotel. Front desk was able to rescue the... More

Cocktails were fantastic, loved it. the view is just amazing, check local sunset times to go during the day, the scale is missed a little at night.

Opens at 5pm, first went on a Saturday so extremely busy, other days less busy, dress code smart casual (classy👍) Drinks slightly more expensive but the decor & views to die for.. FREE entry from the Shangri la Hotel, 36th floor.. Trendy place to be, & compared to other options a bargain..🇬🇧👍

We visited the bar at the Shangri La on our last evening in Sydney and after a bit of waiting around managed to get a seat at the window overlooking the opera house and the bridge. There aren't that many seats with views so it would have been a bit disappointing, having paid for a very expensive (but delicious!) cocktail... More

Amazing views but service average and very expensive. We were staying in hotel and only option really if you want a drink as other hotel bar very average to say the least.

Fine quality drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. A perfect place to gather with friends and get hammered in style.

We went here for pre dinner drinks. The views are good but there is not a lot of room if it's a busy night. Drinks prices are a little on the high side but we guessed you are paying for the view!

Lovely place to have a drink or a cocktail, window tables could be booked for special occasions, but views good from most perspectives anyway. Sometimes staff were a bit busy and needed calling over to take an order. Worth a visit.

Fantastic view, good cocktails. We visited at night and the nightscape was fantastic. It's not a huge place but we found a nice little nook and just took it all in. We expected the drink prices to be higher than what they were because of the view but they were pretty reasonable. The Daytime view would be excellent as well.

Had a pre-dinner drink at Blu Bar. There are a great selection of cocktails and amazing views of the harbour.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
