On paying $260 for a meal for two people one expects a certain amount of decent service and to not leave starving and upset at pretty average food and dreadful service. It took an hour and a half to get our mains which when I...More

We came for dinner and the snapper pie was indeed superb, gotta to try it. Good oysters selection, all the other fish dishes were very well prepared. For deserts, the soufflé and sorbet were also excellent. The only let-down was the pepper crab, preparation was...More

The food is still great here but something has certainly gone amiss with management. It took 35 minutes to get our oysters and bread then and then another half hour for the mains. The oysters weren't the ones I ordered. The chips with the main...More

LARGEST SELECTION OF OYSTERS and the best snapper pie you'll ever eat! Honestly this place is so underrated, I enjoy coming here as a couple, with friends or in general as casual dining. The view is of the water which is dark and dim at...More

If you have any sort of desire to be wanted and appreciated, I can only suggest that you don't visit The Boathouse. The food, let me be clear, is very good; fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. The view is a visitor's dream, from Broadway to...More

Beautiful ambiance in the restaurant with fantastic views overlooking the Anzac Bridge. Service was impeccable. Fish pie is the speciality here and it's delicious. The grilled octopus entree was lovely. Great place for couples.

It's a nice place but I didn't find it pretentious. You would be equally comfortable and at ease in suit and tie or nice jeans. Personally I went in suit with no tie.
