Love this place. Go there quite a bit with work colleagues and it's always busy. In saying that though, the service is always great and the food is even better. Never had a bad meal at this place, highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose it as we had visited many years ago and wanted a traditional Greek restaurant. Arriving early at 12md was good as it slowly filled with groups for a business lunch. We received a friendly greeting from the all male older Greek waiters who knew their business. We... More

Had a chance to enjoy lunch at the Athenian Greek restaurant on Barrack Street on Saturday prior to a show in the CBD. It tasted like home cooking. My wife enjoyed the Athenian special – a combination of Greek lamb, papoutsakia, stuffed capsicum, cabbage roll & mixed vegetables while I dove into an excellent salmon fillet with the usual trimmings... We went to the Athenian Greek Restaurant with a large group the place is quite large and has a nice atmosphere. The food was very tasty from the Dips to the Lamb and of course the Octopus service was excellent, the staff went out of there way to make your welcome with be back.

It was recommended by the hotel staff and they were right. Demetri waited on us and he did a fine job. I had the lamb shoulder and it was fall off the bone tender and delicious. My wife had the Athenian special and it was fabulous. We also had two Greek beers which hit the spot. Great dinner and waited... More

A group of friends and I meet once a year at this excellent eatery for some years now and it must be said it is one of the most consistently good restaurants I have encountered. Excellent food, fantastic service and a comprehensive wine list make this place one of my favourites.
