The food it's self wasn't bad. The presentation and atmosphere were awful. My 'main course' was entre sized, for $15.50 I got 4 small pieces of tofu with a bit of sauce & sesame seeds. The service was very lethargic. The cook didn't engage with us in the way you would expect at a Teppenyaki restaurant. At the end it... More

We purchased a voucher for 4 of us to celebrate our son's 20th birthday. When I booked, I indicated that he was very excited to see this show as my daughter had experienced one at another restaurant. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our chef. There was no personality whatsoever! Although the food was delicious and it was interesting watching... More

This is our go-to place for group birthday dinners. Very entertaining and great value. Food is great. The decor could do with updating, however it's not a focal point when you're engrossed in the 'show'. BYO alcohol with decent corkage rates.

Bought a voucher for a dinner with 3 other friends. All the food taste the same and it took them almost 2 hrs just to complete the cooking! Serving size is too small makes you eat to another restaurant after.

Although not so appealing to look at this is a little jewel I had bought a scoopon and went with my friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was lovely the chef took a while to warm up but when he did he put on a great show...we could not stop laughing! Bonus that it is BYO too!

Let's start by saying the staff are really lovely, eager to please and generally ok service wise. It's also a small restaurant so I suggest booking, walk ins may be difficult. Water service is swift as was the miso and salad service as part of our Teppanyaki experience. After that things took a bit longer. The food was cooked well,... More

We went on a deal voucher and had a great time! 9 courses with plenty of good quality food and a great show chef who was interactive and great personality. We have been to more expensive teppinyaki such as Kobe Jones and Showchef was much better! Byo as well, so all in all a great night and we will definitely... More

I went searching for a bite in Paddington at 9.30pm and was delighted to find this Teppanyaki place still open. All the staff were so welcoming and full of suggestions. The show style bbq cooking is a feature and I loved watching the tender breast chicken sliced expertly and seasoned with the special sauces. The chef explained what he was... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
