This is one of our "locals" and the food is always good. Crispy Beef in Chilli Plum Sauce is our fave. However, this time we tried Sizzling Lamb, which was tender and flavoursome.

Salt and pepper calamari perfection. Dont let the shopfront fool you! This place has been the bees knees for years with good reason.

We had heard the food was good but we've heard that before and have yet to find a decent Chinese place in Darwin that doesn't leave us with that MSG 'drier than the dry season' feeling. Hingston was great, it's just a joint sort of place, very plain interior with a few tables, loads of noise coming from the kitchen... More

Love this little local. Their takeaway is consistent and enjoyable. Have never dined in but not much atmosphere other than hole in the wall style Chinese.

We have been regular customers since moving to Darwin, over 10 years …. Consistently excellent food and decent customer service has kept taking me back to Hingston’s on a regular basis. However, last Saturday, I went there as usual and ordered $100 worth of take away to feed friends who like their soy sauce with cut green chilli to compliment... More

Having eaten at Hingston's for years I would be bold enough to say that they serve the best Chinese food in all of Darwin.

My husband and I got a takeaway from Hingston chineses this evening and I was sorely disappointed and will never order from there again. First of all we ordered one plain rice between the 2 of us and we were given special fried rice. I don't know or care of we paid extra for that rice or not but thats... More

An old but good favorite. Chinese meals are always tasty and original whilst still at a reasonable price. Just like the Chinese restaraunts I grew up with. Simple restaraunt for eat in, small but always full. Great for takeaways. Can't go wrong.

Have been in Darwin for 7 years and have had people give us rave reviews of this Chinese restaurant. However never found ourselves having a meal until recently my wife and I ordered some take away. With nothing short of great excitement we took a selection of items off the menu home only to find that it was essentially inedible.... More

Small restaurant, but great food. Bookings essential as most nights it is full. The salty fish chicken fried rice, sizzling beef & the omelette are amazing.
