the ambience at this paddington foody heaven matches the kai. the moment you walk through the door you feel transported to a time where customer service is wrapped around a sense of community, where crew personality and connection is as valuable as the speed of...service. the meals here are delicious. as plant based eaters, to be offered a full menu equal to that of carnivores is a rarity (still, alas) and a freakin joy. the clientele seem to be in agreement that we are all there to enjoy our meals and each other. the birthday songs are sung by all, the chatter and hum of conversation, the presence of a wide demographic of diners feels mediterranean and liberating. but for us it is the staff who make it shine and keep us coming back almost weekly for years now. georgia, the sunday floor manager, runs a tight and happy ship. you can see the respect and affection and support between members of staff. it makes for a feeling of comfort and inclusion. we don’t know every one on board but tallulah is a joy: efficient and engaging. and meika has such gentle sunshine about her that we often cry a little when ordering our brunch. we talk about how excited we are to return, almost as much for the interaction with these hospo wahine as for the variety and quality of the menu. well done naïm, for finding humans who create the perfect balance of home and restaurant, professionalism and personal interaction. this place is a gem. an icon. the place to take friends and visitors. always ensure you book ahead and shhhhh. don’t tell anyone…More

I wasn't going to put this publicly, as I wrote to the Naim to give them an opportunity to respond, to date, I've had nothing. Hence, I thought it best to put it in as a review now.... Sharing our disappointment. Myself and my partner...were the first to arrive (early) out of a group of 8 for our booking at 6:30pm, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman, he was attentive to us, served us a drink and explained the vegan menu and how it all came about. We were very impressed with his service and thought the night would be similar.... oh how very wrong we were. The others arrive, slightly early and on time, we placed our orders pretty much straight away, lovely service by the waitress. We watched tables come and go and we still had no food. By 8pm we asked where our food was, the waitress was surprised we hadn’t received our entrées as yet. She went to ask, came back saying there was a printing error, and they were missed. By about 8.20pm we received all but two entrée’s, we needed to ask for them yet again. The first lot of entrées were lovely, all about the same size and yes, tasted lovely. The last two to come out, were much smaller, nice but looked like they were just ‘rushed’ together. It wasn’t long and then the mains came out (others were still eating their entrée’s) (the same dishes were all so very different in size etc) and my partner’s main meal – the Winter Braise (vegan) was so small (much smaller than the entrees and honestly was inedible), he said the salt content was awful. It was funny, as a couple of guests said their meal had no salt at all, so we believe my partner's dish had enough salt for several of the meals. He persevered as he was hungry, in the end he left half. We believe due to the “printing error” our meals were “rushed” thru and the attention to detail and the “love” that would normally be put into the meals was severely lacking. We all agreed that we enjoyed our entrée’s (even though two were much smaller). As for our mains, I think only two guests thought theirs was really good. We requested to be compensated for the excessive wait time (2hrs), to which we were given 15% discount, at the time, we accepted the apologies and the discount, however after re-evaluating the entire experience and the quality of the mains we don’t believe we were compensated enough. Waiting two hours for entrée, then having our meals delivered all over the place and the quality of the mains, 15% doesn’t really cut it. Four of us were 2nd and 3rd time visitors to Naim and you came highly recommended. Unfortunately, my partner and I won't be back, the others felt the same way too. I don’t really expect anything now, after the fact, I just wanted to provide you feedback over and above what we said on Saturday Night as we weren't really given the opportunity to explain our disappointment in the mains enough and how inedible the Winter Braise was and we believe 15% wasn’t enough to compensate our inconvenience and disappointment. Due to how busy your restaurant was and how highly recommended you came, I do believe it was due to the printing error, it’s just a shame that we had to suffer so much and wait so long. Although on a side note, after our first lot of water delivery, I did think we were forgotten for quite a while, the waitresses as lovely as they were, didn't come back to the table to check on us, provide water or any form of drinks. We had to chase the entire evening, until they realized they forgot our meals, then they became a little more attentive.More

I am often underwhelmed by cafe food. I have to say though the food at NAIM is very good. We had harissa crab omelette and Shakshouka - my daughters had churro pancakes. My daughters weren’t crazy about the sauce on the pancakes but apart from...that everything was perfect. The shakshouka was superb. There is a vegan menu that matches the regular menu - which is nice. The service is casual and friendly. Expect to pay 25-30 per dish. I would happily recommend NAIM for weekend brunch .More

The hazelnut, espresso milkshake is amazing. Our waitress was super sweet. The hummus plate was just okay. The falafel has carrot inside and I am not a fan of carrots. And the flavor of the hummus was just average. My colleague enjoyed her prawn (shrimp)...dish very much. However, the wine she tried was hit or miss. I believe she started with the shiraz, which she would never order again, but also tried the tempranillo, which was apparently much better. The restaurant seems to be in a converted house, in a cute neighborhood. They have free wi-fi for customers who need an internet connection to order a ride share. You may pay by credit card or cash.More

we were met cheerfully by the host and seated in the rear room surrounded by windows. The room is a bit loud so if you struggle with hearing you way want to ask for a front room table. The 4 of us all had different...dishes and all were considered very good. I had the lamb which was very good. The pitcher of sangria was also very tasty. All in all a very good evening. Service was attentive but not hurrying.More

Disappointing food. We sat on hard chairs in a hard floored noisy room and were let down with the food. The limited menu read well but neither the lamb nor fish pleased the palate. The lamb rump looked nicely cooked but wasn’t flavourful and was...lacked tenderness. The snapper was dry, overcooked and uninspiring. I would have sent it back but the only other things on the menu didn’t float my boat and in any case no staff check with us. No-one during the meal or at payment time or ever asked if things were OK. They weren’t.More

I had followed Naim on Instagram for literally years. I grew up in Qld and discovered a lot of special shops just as I left and moved to rural Victoria. I always saw their delicious posts and wanted to try! On a recent visit to...Brisbane my sister and I quite accidentally stumbled across Naim! It was such a sweet little shop front in a great location. The servers were friendly and the food came out very quickly. It was honestly so delicious. Tomato-y, salty goodness on a plate. There was a whole plant based menu which was excellent for my vego sister who always ends up stuck with a mushroom risotto at most restaurants. I wish I had been more hungry so I could try even more! I’ll be back next trip home!More

Atmosphere was noisy and impersonal. Slow to get people seated. Had booked, but were waiting in queue for ages. Table had not been reserved for us; then they had to move tables together. Style of food was not as website advertised. We ordered the mezze...to share - assuming it would be served first. But all dishes were served at the same time. Flavours were pleasant enough, but it lacked style. It had the feel of family home cooking.More

We visited Naim a few weeks ago after receiving lots of recommendations from people we know. We booked for a Friday evening and the place was full. The service was great and the food tasty. Decent wine selection to go with the new vegan options....The place has a great vibe and the decor is really nice - can see why it's such a popular place.More

It was my first time, but my friend who I went with had been before. Being a vegetarian and with some dietary requirements, I am used to limited choices, but I had many. My friend can eat anything and was happy to choose the lamb....I had the veeg meat balls with a black rice risotto. Wow! It was amazing. I just wish it was a slightly bigger portion. The staff were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and looked happy to be there. I have not had such great service in years. There was a lovely Austrian server who looked after us and was an 11 out of 10. The other staff also demonstrated passion about their work and one staff member even offered to marinate the olives they were selling. It is not a cheap place, but due to the amazing food, service, speed and atmosphere, the prices matched. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you. I will be back. EmmaMore

We had high hopes for this Brisbane restaurant but unfortunately we were left extremely disappointed - enough that we didn't finish our meals. The seating was not ideal (one person squished, one with their back to the whole restaurant), the waitress didn't know anything about...the menu, the drinks were way to sweet and that was before our meals even came. We ate half of our entree due to adding way to much sauce. Our meals were as confusing as the menu stated, and terrible in taste. After trying to eat the meals we were dished, we got up and left, to head to another restaurant for a proper dinner. Top that with zero vibe, I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.More

We lunched with a group of friends and all enjoyed our meals - the food was fresh and tasty - although the menu was a bit tricky. One side is for vegetarians and the other side for non vegetarians although most of the meals are...very similar. One vegetarian friend ended up with the non vegetarian meal due to confusion when ordering although they did replace it promptly. If you aren't vegetarian there is only a limited number of meals that feature meat.More

I didn’t read any reviews before the meal as it was selected by a friend as we had a friend who is a vegetarian. I was impressed by the vegetarian options and the fact there was a dedicated menu for it as was our vegetarian...friend. We arrived at 730 and the place was full, we were the last of two tables to leave at 10. The waitress was nice, my lychee drink was gorgeous and my lamb dish was very nice and very filling so I took half home to eat today. In saying all that I can see why the other reviewers had concerns. This restaurant was slightly middle eastern and not with the punch of flavours you’d hope for. Our share plate suggested by the waitress was more a small pizza and not great for share food and the bread was stale. $28 for that was well overpriced compared to my amazing lamb at $35. All in all i liked my dish and the other ladies liked their mains (veg moussaka, meat moussaka and risotto) but there were some less than ideal flavours and the desserts on display actually looked quite underwhelming (cinnamon bun may be tasty but it looked quite unappetising on display).More
