I went there for a special dinner with my partner. The venue was great as you can tell from the pictures, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a multiple course meal (I can't remember if it was labelled as the tasting menu or a degustation menu) which was really very good. One of the... More

We just had time for a pre-theatre meal so sadly couldn't linger but we still had time for a glass of very nice bubbles and a couple of share plates. The food was very good, interesting combinations and flavours, and the service was efficient and very friendly. I wish we had had more time to get to desserts and coffee,... More

Eating in a piece of history - the beautiful old original apothecary cabinets have been restored, some displaying old medicine bottles, and others some more recent bottles of spirits and wine. The decor is sufficient for one to return just to admire the workmanship. (and a glass of wine) After getting lost in the rather extensive wine menu, we ordered... More

We dined here before a show. The wine bar is a quiet sanctuary on Hindley Street. We chose the Degustation menu paired with wines. It was not cheap but the food was excellent. Each course was determined by the chef and was delicious and the wines worked well with the food. Our waiter was knowledgeable and efficient.

The remnants of the 1878 Apothecary's store provided an interesting background for a very pleasant meal. We chose the degustation menu, an interesting range of quality dishes, with some well balanced flavours. The service was very attentive and pleasant, the wine list good and prices quite reasonable.

We came across this restaurant by chance sort of like a pearl in the middle of seaweed or in this case a damned fine restaurant stuck in the middle of kebab and massage joints. The food was really nice and actually reminded me of the sort of food I would cook at home - stuffed calamari and a delicious lamb... More

Ate here after an excellent fringe show in the Oval. Good cellar setting in a convenient bit of the CBD. Welcoming staff, backed by a menu that promised a lot. The wine list is extensive and neatly balanced. Service was professional and just as attentive as you would want. The starter was delicious - duck ham well-prepared and well-presented. The main... Although we've dined here before, this time we went for a couple of glasses of the good stuff. Service here is good and the atmospherics quirky and old world. not for the hipsters i would think, but the choice of wines is excellent...especially if you had a group of wine lovers to share with. We found ourselves recalling the meal... More
