We called in for lunch whilst visiting Adelaide and were very impressed with the taste and quality of the Thai food. The Tom Yum soup was especially delicious

I love the freshness of the dishes and the fact you can get really hot food here. If you love it very very hot, ask for "Thai hot". Check out the Penang Beef, Nam Tok and Satay. Very hard to understand them on the phone over the raucous of the kitchen so be prepared to literally repeat things fifty times... More

Just had a take away pad Thai with chicken and prawn. Chicken (if that's what it was) was inedible, there were 4 prawns and a container full of sloppy noodles. No flavour at all - nothing authentic about this dish and a total waste of money. It's not hard to get this dish right but Cafe Michael 2 could not... More

Not quite a hole in the wall, but not expansive either. Laminate tables, comfy chairs, paper napkins, fork and spoon dictated to me that we would enjoy a good Thai meal, I was not disappointed.

This is some of the best Thai food we have had. The flavors were authentic and not just the typical found so often now. However the food was not spicy so could be a disappointment if you equate authentic with hot. I prefer less spicy so I can enjoy the complex flavors more. So this was perfect for me. Service... I've been going to Cafe Michaels off and on for the past 20 years through a number of owners and it just keeps getting better. If you are interested in authentic Thai cooking at affordable prices right in the middle of Rundle street this is the place to go. I can personally recommend the whole fish and a long time... More

After a very long time between visits, we attended Cafe Michael 2 for lunch using a voucher. We were advised that we could have two starters and two mains, plus a bottle of wine as per voucher. The Money Purse starter was overcooked and apparently contained chicken within the burned coconut. The Vegetable Spring Rolls contained cabbage and were also... More

Upon entering there was a variety of good aromas, but the overriding smell of old oil seemed to spoil my anticipation. The staff were cheerful and helpful but difficult to understand and needed to get the floor manager over for menu clarification. The TV on the wall was distracting, but not as off-putting as having a radio station playing over... More

We went for the two person banquet, good value at A$32, the food was very good and it just kept coming. No question, the value for money was fine and the service was very good.

We visited because our hotel was just around the corner. The food was edible but a bit too oily. The prices were about 15-20% over what I would have expected. The service was not bad but not great. It seems to be a locally owned establishment which is usually a big plus and our preference but we would not go... More
