We had a lovely dinner at George’s - Alex, our server, was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions and was happy to provide recommendations based on our preferences. Food was great and so were the cocktails. The atmosphere and feeling inside was really lovely - felt very comfortable and taken care of.

Having travelled extensively I found this restuarant on par if not better than other establishments. We reserved for a group of 20 and all of us were in agreeance this was fine dining at its best. The cuisine is an infusion of Greek inspired dishes with a twist. The desserts were mouthwatering and the service is at a level you would expect to find at other fine dining restuarants around the world.

We had a wonderful dinner on our last night in Adelaide. The menu is diverse enough to ensure all tastes are catered for and the quality of the food is exceptional as is the service. With a selection of small share plates or large ones, you have the chance to sample a variety of foods accompanied by a good wine list. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful evening.

We started of with the moscato, wonderful. Complementary bread as well which taste very fresh (oil, salt + pepper). So we ordered the prawn skewers entree and they were okay. The preserved lemon on it brought the dish together a bit however once we finished them all we realised the main middle one had more of that ingredient. For mains we ordered lamb press and beef ribs. Lamb press was a tiny bit cold for my liking, nothing substantial but it wasn't as hot as the ribs. It was delicious however and the cherries and meat tasted spectacular. The beef ribs were soft and nice too. The remoulade complimented it well. We also ordered a cos salad, great dressing and worked really well as we were meat overloading. Lastly for dessert we had the vanilla creme caramel. Absolutely amazing and honestly my favourite dish of the night.

After reading reviews for this restaurant online, I decided this would be a good place to enjoy my birthday dinner. To say I was impressed is an understatement. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly & had the pleasure to be waited on by Daniella. We were never left wanting & Daniella made sure everything we needed was provided quickly & without fuss. She made recommendations & sought further information when questions were raised. Daniella was friendly without being over the top & was happy to join in some birthday cheer. The food, although fantastic, was second to the amazing service we received & really added the extra touch on a special day. The menu had great options & is reasonably priced, especially considering 3 courses is $80. Starting our meal with the special scallops set a very high bar. We also ordered the asparagus to share & it had contrast in both flavour & texture. The pressed lamb main was not only a feast for the eyes, but provided a hearty meal that couldn’t be finished. The porterhouse steak was well cooked & full of flavour, though I would prefer the steak be served whole. This was the only negative of the meal. We finished with the affogato of homemade ice cream & a cheese plate. Thankyou also to Daniella for arranging a special ‘happy birthday’ plate with macarons & parfait! The pace of service was great & allowed us time to enjoy & digest each course. This really shows that staff understand their diners & seek to provide an atmosphere where people are comfortable to sit, chat & digest! Tables were well spaced to accommodate social distancing & the regular cleaning/wiping down of high touch points by the staff was great. If you are looking for a restaurant that provides service that will exceed your expectations & food that matches, you cannot go past this restaurant. Do yourself a favour & make a booking, you will not be disappointed.

We always love eating at George’s on Waymouth. Brilliant food, great staff and an interesting wine list. I’m an ex chef so often feel underwhelmed when eating out. I never feel like this at Georges! We love it and even though I loved what I ordered, when looking at the other meals my family ordered, I had a touch of menu regret! Make sure you arrive hungry, fabulous sized meals, and the only problem had was wishing I could eat more! Thanks George and your fab Team.

We had dinner here last saturday night. I am Coeliac and eat only GF. The restaurant absolutely caters to this and other diets. The venue is lovely, table service friendly but not intrusive, the wine list is excellent, and they do a fine grown up no/alc drink. I had the barramundi and it was delicious. Dessert was a greek yoghurt pannacotta, and it was very good too. Lots of resturants leave a lot to be desired in their offering for gf, and I understand all the reasons why... its refreshing though to be able to order with confidence, from a kitchen that understand cooking and produce, that can provide an excellent dining experience for the majority of people.

Treated my sister to a well deserved birthday surprise lunch. We had both never experienced a tasting menu with matched wines before, and oh boy Georges totally wowed us. The food was devine, I'd never imagined I would rave over even a salad, and perfectly matched with the wines, many of which we would never have had the opportunity to try the style and flavour. The service and care we received from our waiter and the team was faultless and welcoming. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and is stylishly comfortable. Thank you so much for making my sister's day such a special event. We can't wait to come back again.

We had a lovely dinner, with excellent service. We shared two starters - roast quail and scallops - both outstanding. We also shared a main of roasted cauliflower and panna cotta, both also excellent. Most items on the menu were gluten free, which was great for my husband, with celiac disease.

Great service overshadowed by the choice of dishes I made at an event hosted by a partner. The Starter - beetroot lacked flavor; the main the signature lamb had potatoes covered in big chunks of salt - totally inedible ruined the meal and the dessert was very disappointing - thin slice of cake. May be it was my choices but not a great experience.

It isn’t fair to rate this way, but if there was a ‘for Adelaide rating’ then our review would have been higher, maybe nearly 5/5. But why rate differently for different cities in the world? All was going pretty well food and service wise before I realised, as the evening went on, there were a few reasons to have to lower the score! An interesting menu. Attentive service from our waitress. LOVED the white table cloths and paper covers. Absolutely gorgeous trout starter, even if a little over doused in oil. And really the puffed rice in top would be better ‘on the side’ so you could add it on voluntarily rather than be smacked with their idea of ‘texture’. But still good! Gnocchi was a touch floury but flavoursome. The lamb dish really deserved a ‘juicy medal’. Wonderful. Whereas, the duck was more like a steak that needed sawing! Not great. The 3/5 points really related to this: A) the artichoke dessert - it was terrible. Not sure anyone’s tastebuds would have survived. Who created that dessert? Did they taste it? It sounded intriguing but I wished I’d never been intrigued!!! B) the host of the restaurant showing off at a table next to us: It was a two hour session of big-noting himself and competitive talk with those people. Not the most conducive to a quiet romantic meal and a touch disconcerting having to hear it just go on and on......Really off putting in fact. Even upstairs in the loo I could hear the voices from that table!Surely there was a private room they could have gone to!!

Hi Lisa, Thank you firstly for your support of our restaurant and we appreciate all feedback both positive & negative to assist us in bettering our venue moving forward. We take all on board and will address with my team where necessary. But must say I am very disappointed regarding your personal remarks about myself which could not be more false. Your comments about ‘big noting myself’ and ‘competitive talk’?? I spent time with this table to take them on a tasting of a few wineries from Australia & Europe which they requested and paid for and some of our discussion was regarding the impact of COVID on our industry. If my knowledge of wine and the effect of the virus has had on our business bothers you I really don’t know what to say? In 30 years working in this industry that I love and care about and 18 of those at Georges I have never once had a customer describe what you have about myself personally, it’s uncalled for and disrespectful. I am in the industry of serving people’s needs and your unwarranted attack on myself was not necessary. The values my family brought me up with are implemented in our business every day, and we are renown for the respect, integrity & humility we offer our guests day in day out! Thank you, George.

We were given a gift token for this restaurant and went without really knowing anything about it. WELL! We could not have had a better night and meal. Initial impressions was how great the service was and the attention to detail. We had a wonderful waitress who could not have tried harder nor been more attentive when needed and gone when not. George himself also visited our table and after discussing places we had been to, as had he, he gave us a taste of a wine from that region that was superb. The meal: WELL how do you describe perfection??? From the starters to the mains and we had planned on desert but we were too full as the plates were generous servings. So we were given a small tasting desert to go. Wonderful restaurant, great atmosphere, fantastic staff and owner; and food t die for. All in all a great night out and a huge thank you to the staff who made it possible and the lovely family who gave us the gift token to such a great restaurant.

Our network meets every 6 weeks at George’s on Waymouth. Without exception , every dinner is momentous. Excellent service and discretion during our discussions and timing between courses perfectly suits the meeting. Last night was particularly delicious lamb and share vegetables, especially the roast cauliflower with pomegranate. Always service with a smile. Thank you George!

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. We arrived and were warmly greeted by one of the lovely staff. We were promptly seated and our waitress, Daniella came to introduce herself. Her friendliness was authentic and she went above and beyond to make our time spent in the restaurant the best it possibly could be. Daniella made this visit wonderful. The food was as spectacular as the service was. The food was paced really well and we didn’t feel rushed. The scallops entree was memorable, the lamb was delicious and the dessert was scrumptious. We were here for a friend’s birthday dinner and a little treat to finish the meal just gave that extra special touch of care. I would definitely recommend and we will return next time we are in Adelaide.
