Relaxed place where you can sit outside, mainly young people there, decent (recorded ) music played in the background. The single decker bus parked in the restaurant yard ( used by people who want some shelter and extra space while eating ) adds a touch of quirkiness. Wine fine, inexpensive. The food quite simple eg salads , burgers ( inc... More

I tried a dark beer, Last Rites Mongo smoked porter from Tassie. It was as enjoyable as it was esoteric. Good selection of interesting beers on tap as well as unusual bottled treasures. Had a good vibe which was accentuated by the sunny afternoon on the Astroturf back yard beer garden. Just up the hill from Salamanca. Very trendy beer... More

I was here on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon. The beer garden was the only place to be. A combination of large and small groups, tourists and locals came and went from outside while I was there. The atmosphere was one of casual socialising, but I did not feel out of place being there alone. The tap list was a... More

I stumbled upon this place as I was about to feint from lack of gin and my son was goi got mutiny roll down the hill. Thank god we found it. Great selection of booze, the temptation of parking myself there for the night and drinking myself silly was real, though the judgement of bad parenting forbade it. Super friendly... More

Truly a rare local hang out in the heights of Hobart. Fine music, good food, in a funky little location.

Its an unusual bar. Set in an old sail-maker's (IIRC) cottage which is heritage listed (so they can't change much), it feels a bit clunky. But in a very Hobart way (ie friendly yet hip) they make it work. A great craft beer list and a ploughman's plate worked for us as we found a nook to settle into.

Great venue. Pleasing range of drinks. Food delicious and delivered in a timely manner BUT for one strange and disappointing detail. Unlike anywhere else experienced, the lamb kofte came simply as greasy balls of delicious spiced meat with just a tiny tub of tzatziki. No bread, not even a tooth pick or a serviette to eat with. Surely a few... More

This place was wonderful - the only reason it doesn't get five stars is because they were out of basil for the gin cocktail and I had my heart set on it! My partner had a delicious ginger cocktail, which was very delicious. A great venue, super-cool set up and an easy chill vibe. Drinks were great and very affordable.

Went for a quick burger and beer and was very disappointed. Only craft beeers available but that's not so bad, but waiting an hour and a half for a burger is ridiculous.

We went for a quick burger and drink and weren't disappointed! This cute cottage also has a beer garden (and bus) and is like an English pub. There is a range of craft beers which you can taste first, plus wines. I had a blackberry sangria which was refreshing. Our burgers were scrumptious! I had the vegie burger which had... More
