Great food and even great in generous size of the meal - I strongly suggest to invite a friend with you to help you finish! :-)

We were brought there by our friend who lives in Hobart. Ordered the char kueh tiaw and was surprised that we were able to have Malaysian char kueh tiaw in Tasm. Some of us were already craving for Malaysian food after a week away from home. The smiling and friendly boss came out and greeted us, thanking us for patronising... More

Fantastic fresh cooked noodles and rice dishes. Amazing roti. Spring rolls and samosas could have been more home style but we loved our meal! Great service. Thank you!!

My dad was craving for some fried or soup noodles. So, I did some research and Sawak Cafe was in the vicinity, and showed good reviews from fellow Singaporeans and Malaysians. We went for it. It is a very small joint - probably a capacity of 25 people - and has an open concept kitchen. So my dad took the... More

Staying nearby for a week and was looking for a cheap, easy option for dinner. We walked by the Sawak Café earlier in the day, so looked them up. Reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook seemed favourable, so we ordered from their Facebook page. The order was accurate and ready by the time my husband had crossed the street to collect.... More

Visited 2nd May. 1.30pm. Food: Authentic Malaysian food. We ordered curry puffs ( delicious filling but pastry can be improved). Hubby had the jumbo nasi lemak. Coconut rice was BAGUS (Excellent in malay). Everything else was just as good as the rice! I had the chicken laksa. Perfect for a cold day like today. Was very delicious. We will come... More

Craving for some local food while in Tasmania and stumbled upon this no fuss cafe serving Malaysian food. Authentic sambal and beef rendang, wish the rice has more coconut fragrance tho. Price very reasonable and will come again for my dose of Malaysian local food.

Ordered a jumbo nasi lemak for 2 to share. The serving was not really 'jumbo' but it comes with 2 meats - beef rendang and 2 fried drumlets. They allow BYO - FOC/no corkage. The beef was well cooked, tasty. Fried chicken was crispy though a little on the bland side. The rice could be more fragrant but this is... More

We had beef rendang and vegetarian satay noodles. The service was friendly and fast, food plentiful and tasty, and price was very reasonable - $25 for two including pot of Jasmine tea.
