It is a well located fast food restaurant. Only 2 choices for grilled fish. The chips are average. We had fish and chips. It was ok. No sweet potato chips or anything different on the take away menu.

This place is great to kick back and relax beside the water watching the passing parade. I tried the Seafood chowder and was seriously impressed. Tasty and a real meal on one. Grab a cup of tea and an ice cream, read the paper and...More

We were staying across the road at the Grand Chancellor so would come here for breakfast and it didnt disappoint. Freshly made, nice staff, good view - will do it every time over a overpriced hotel buffet. A couple of times we would come here...More

Has a nice feel about it. Service just ok. Not overly friendly but that could have been a once off. Cinnamon chai ice cream okay. But the girls loved theirs. Good prices. Asked for a latte in takeaway cup and they served in a glass....More

We ate here on a very busy Sunday in July, place was absolutely heaving. The food was so-so but comfort level poor and none of our party (6 of us) felt we'd be likely to return. There's an interesting menu, but a very hurried feel...More

Certainly not recognised for coffee.... so we won't go there! Nice touch with the smarties though. Seafood brilliant. Service great. Quick lunch.... awesome location. Crumbed scallops my favourite. Have picked up fresh cray fish and flathead early morning and it was exactly that FRESH!

Chose this restaurant because we were cold, hungry and the restaurant was near. Had coleslaw and the Fisherman's Platter. The fish, seafood, and salad were well-prepared and tasty. Service was excellent. You can't go wrong at Mures.

Dropped in with family for ice creams in a cold night. Good dangerous of flavours, warm venue and comfy arm chairs. We received huge serves at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Refer to their website as it publishes their open times or days of operations. If not, beside Mures on its right side facing the water, there is a small shop for fresh fish and seafoods and chips.

Description
Jill & George Mure opened Tasmania's first licensed seafood restaurant, Mures Fish House, in 1973 in Hobart. When they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing. More than 40 years on, now owned by Will & Jude Mure, Mures remains a favourite of locals and visitors alike, located in Hobart's working fishing port at Victoria Dock. Mures' philosophy of fresh Australian seafood, sourced from sustainably managed fisheries still rings true from the ocean to the plate. At Lower Deck you can enjoy a wide variety of seafood from the licensed Bistro, including Mures' own line caught blue eye trevalla, as you take in the sights and sounds of the waterfront. Start the day off right with breakfast by the docks, served daily from 7am. Check out the vast array of Australian seafood at the Fishmongers including rock lobster, salmon, scallops and mussels, where you can order freshly shucked Tasmanian oysters from the Oyster Bar. Mures' own range of gourmet seafood products, Tasmanian wines, cider and recipe books are also available. Finish off with a local roasted coffee or choose from 32 flavours of ice cream at the Cafe.
