Great setting in a side street. We sat out on the pavement style side street. I had lovely fresh oysters which came with a fresh zesty dressing. Beware though the main course portions are huge!

We ate here as the setting was so lovely but after sitting down and looking at the menu more closely it was all pretty dull fare. We ordered entrees only. They were alright but uninspiring and a bit greasy. Wouldn't eat there again with so...More

We had just arrived in Melbourne from interstate and needed lunch. We wandered around town for a while and then decided to try Hardware Lane. The guy outside Pop 'spruiked' us in with the promise of good food and a free soft drink and ice...More

Firstly let me say that the food was decent. Not amazing but decent if not a little overpriced. The service however was poor. Our waiter couldn't have looked less pleased to be serving us. When we were ordering he made unhelpful and irrelevant suggestions and...More

Set down Hardware Lane , amongst other restaurants, in a lively atmosphere. We were enticed in by a handsome young Irish lad 😉 and received a free drink each and bruschetta on the house. Our main meals were reasonably priced and delicious

Friendly, upbeat restaurant with a great menu. However, I ordered lamb shank with vegetable ratatouille and mash potatoes. My dinner was served sans the ratatouille. When I questioned the server, he did not believe it was included. After he looked at the menu, he told...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
