Went with a large group of friends (about 11 of us). The staff were very helpful and managed to accommodate us sitting together despite the place being very small. The seafood (fisherman's basket) was very fresh with decent large portions. Food didn't feel too oily despite being fried. On top of that they provided extra food and sauces to my... More

Want a quick, cheap, yummy meal when on the run? Call into Sea Salt. Try the grilled squid salad, great sized serve for price. If squid isn't your thing there is a great range of fish including fish packs with scallops, prawns, calamari

Stopped in for lunch on a break from work. Service was swift and friendly as per previous visits. Sushi options are varied, plentiful and vibrant looking, with great taste. Several tables out the front are always full, but turnover is so quick that a spot will most often open up in a couple of minutes. It can sometimes get crowded... More

Usually these tourists spots aren't great but this was a great find. Fresh fish, battered, grilled or crumbed. Huge choice on the menu. Really enjoyed the fish tacos and the grilled fish of the day with salad and chips. Chips good too. Actually felt very healthy because of the grilled the fish, salad and dry chips. Sat outside to eat and... More

Just a take away fish and chip shop with a couple of tables. Food was greasy. Not what it is cracked up to be.

Had fish and chips here and the food was great. They have different types of fish for you to choose from and the guy manning the counter gave us great service. Forgotten to ask for his name though. A must visit since Australia is famous for its fish and chips.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
