I could not believe how dirty this place was. Rubbish everywhere, I don't want to know what was smeared over the floor upstairs and the smell said it all. I did find the staff here friendly.

I found poop all over the restaurant's toilet floor. I was scared shitless when I saw the poop everywhere. It painted the walls and looked like art.

I stood at the counter with my son, we were obviously discussing the menu, I was 'barked at' Three times- "next please", I was made to fell uncomfortable about wanting to discuss my opinions with my son (13 yrs.) and I was taking too long. Finally got to order, the woman behind the counter looked at me with faint contempt,... More

We went there searching for something to eat at reasonable price and we were bang on to the point. The burgers were excellent, fries awesome and icing on the cake was the soft serve only 50 cents. They very reasonable meal combos. We had a meal for 2 only for around 12AUD with a soft serve. And the food was... More

We walked into Hungry Jacks to order our lunch and whilst the food was ok as expected. What I did notice was how filthy the seating areas were. Our table and the one next to it were in need of a really good clean. We used our paper bag to cover the table for fear of nasties. The paper napkin was empty and... My one experience of Hungry Jacks was comical in how bad it was. The miserable teenager behind the till didn't say a single word during the entire transaction. She stomped around, thumped the food down, and for some reason acted like a baby having a temper tantrum. I guess her favourite boy band had just split up or something. Awful... More

Frequented this joint as to 'supplement' my TAB experience from across the way in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. While eating their burgers & chips in between horse races, I was not immediately alerted to the fact that this place was turning my stomach into a dirty-water factory. I had just assumed it was the result of consistently getting beaten... More

Two days ago was my last purchase at Hungry Jacks. Bought Double Cheeseburger Stunner Meal, the meat was smelling HORRIBLE, worse than shiit. It was black and had terrible taste. Chips were under cooked and over-salted, not possible to eat. I have had similar experience with other burgers from this fast food as well, the do not care about quality... More

The place doesn't seem to run with 'quiet efficiency.' The male manager is very loud. On occasion, my order has been mucked up although in fairness, when I have complained, it has been immediately replaced. The point is though that requests for 'no suace' ought to be comprehended by the staff, particularly if you say it in a way that... More

Working late into the night, I decided to have my dinner in HJ which supposed to be a relaxation and recharge after work. However it was not. I waited about ten minutes and the Indian stuff finally wished to move out from the kitchen and do her job. I ordered a $10.25 meal and gave her $20.25, waiting for her... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
