This is a regular haunt while in south Melbourne. Great, good value pizza with a nice cold ale. Good service and friendly staff. Not pretentious. The place the locals seem to go.

Great Pizza's with generous toppings. This place is an institution in South Melboune. Pizza with the lot is amazing.

Visited Patony's on a Monday night as some take away shops are closed. Had a Hawaiian with egg and a Supreme. Both pizzas had thin bases that had a nice crispness to them. Both had plenty of fresh toppings. There was no skimping on the Supreme, it had plenty of prawns. They were piping hot and so fresh and tasty!... More

Outstanding Pizza. No skimping on toppings. Reasonably priced. Great people. Pastas are excellent as well and generous. Couldn't ask for more. Nice family business. My mouth is watering now.

Have eaten here a few times had takeaway a couple of times extra, so have tried enough variety of pizza offering here to make a judgement. Unlike some reviews this is definitely not authentic Italian which is normally thin crust. Pizzas are adequate for a takeaway but a too many toppings makes pizzas a bit soggy. Sometimes ingredients could be... More

Happy we found this little pizza restaurant amidst all the yuppy trendy cafes and overpriced pubs in this area. It reminded me of the 1980's pizza bars without the bright green laminex bench tops!! Traditional pizza with generous toppings, yummy garlic pizza. Well priced. Clean and tidy well presented restaurant. Service fast and friendly. Will definitely return.

This is by far the best pizza I have ever tasted seriously and it was on the cheaper side for pizza also. Kids ate well also. Nicely set up. Great friendly service. Will definitely be returning!!!!

There is tremendous competition between pizza places in the South Melbourne area. We have not tried all of them yet! Patony is not cheap, but the quality is pretty good.

I decided to try this place for a quick meal the other night. It looked ok. I order the spaghetti marina and when it came it was a mound of spaghetti lots of shrimp and little else. It was less than satisfactory and while they bring you dried chilly and parmesan cheese to suit your taste neither did anything to... More

Staying in South Melbourne

Neighbourhood Profile
South Melbourne
South Melbourne hosts the city’s oldest continuous market, founded in 1867. Rows of neatly arranged fruit, vegetables and flowers splash yellows, greens and reds along the entire perimeter, where the whole neighbourhood gathers for Saturday feasts. Inside the hall, shoppers hover over the mouth-watering displays of delicatessens and specialty food shops. Further in, a bazaar full of giftware, clothing, and kitchen utensils completes the scene. Take a break to walk the wide and shady streets and stroll along the Victorian-era heritage terrace houses. But return to the market in time for some paella, simmering in three large frypans on the footpath and served straight onto your plate.
