We started our Fancy Hank experience at the roof top bar. I have to say it was super busy and beyond noisy - suggest making booking ahead of time. We decided to go across the road for our drinks which was better. Food was very...good - we had the premium platter choice of 3 meats and sides. We had the Brisket, pulled pork and pork belly. Brisket was not the best and it was dry but both pork dishes were absolutely out of this world. All the sides were also very good. Service was very good no complaints. Overall I would love to come back to Fancy Hank. Good job team.More

If you are a big meat eater this is the place to go. The serves are huge (though the prices aren't minimal). My only criticism is you order a plate and its just the meat, sides are separate - i think it is a designed...to share scenario but it was just a bit odd and adds up fast.More

Great food. Beer nuts to start a great nibble. Buffalo wings could be a little spicier. A platter of Brisket, Chicken, Pork and Lamb fantastic. Chicken a little underwhelming (Dry) but the others beautiful. Beef Brisket the pick of the lot. Drink variety great, but...for beers a Pot and a Pint the only choice of size is silly. A schooner is better. Upstairs open air bar is great, but to allow smoking up there is ridiculous.More

Natalie is an amazing server and kept us completely in the look when we told her about my moms allergy. 10/10 customer service. Kitchen also accommodating to her by giving her the juiciest but of brisket when she could’ve have the sauce

The restaurant itself was very dark, not much lighting, However, the staff were great, very attentive, and the food was excellent! We had the blooming onion, so delicious and my husband ate all of the corn ribs before I could get more than 1, We...put ourselves into an absolute food coma with the pitmaster platter as well, everything was perfection! He thought the boilermakers were great, and my wine and Long Island iced tea finished a great experience for our long weekend.More

My husband and I ate here twice during our stay in Melbourne and I have to say it was one of the highlights to our trip and my favorite restaurant we ate at in Melbourne The food was amazing each time and the service extremely...attentive. The iced tea with home made lemonade is amazing, a must have and the food was nothing less then exceptional 10/10More

Like most reviewers I try to avoid giving establishments a '1' as it dissuades others from patronising. Unfortunately here, such a rating is justified. The food was very ordinary and the service worse. The dishes took 55 minutes to arrive: half an hour would be...acceptable, or at a pinch 35 minutes, but not 55. Avoid!More

Hank”s is still decent bbq - their brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken stand out from other bbq joints in Melbourne but the lack of table service is simply unacceptable at this price point. On the busy Saturday night we visited the post-covid hospitality situation has...meant that Hank”s is still using a QR code to order. Our table of 4 was justifiably confused by the menu and the “get your phone out and order” process (we received an apology at the end from whom we think was a supervisor) . At the prices they’re charging we began questioning the value of the experience as the price-per-head was well over 50 per person and that’s not including drinks. There’s a tipping point where cost and the overall experience begins to make one question a return visit - Hank’s has reached it in our opinion.More

I’m a coeliac and let them know about this in advance and when I arrived. They advised they had several GF dishes for me, which I ate. I still got gluten exposure and have now been sick for days.

Caught up with a friend for dinner. Food was tasteless and not worth the price. Agree with another review - was served half a deviled egg when the picture clearly shows a whole egg halved. Not only that my friends meal did not look at...all like the picture and the cut served was not unrecognisable. The wait staff was particularly rude and acted annoyed at having to work that evening. She very loudly told my friend and I that we had 20 minutes left of our dining experience causing other patrons to stop and stare. This was extremely embarrassing! And not only that she continually hovered around us and then took our plates away 10 minutes prior to us having to leave. What was so incredibly unfair was the table that was seated at the same time as my friend and I were not instructed to leave by the 90 minute seating time. And were happily chatting as my friend and I walked out. I will not be visiting this establishment again and will be very vocal about sharing my experience with family and friends. My friend and I were totally aware of the new restrictions and guidelines in place due to social distancing and the business' efforts to operate under the circumstances. But that is no excuse for the poor treatment received. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if the food was somewhat edible. My friend and I ended up going to another venue and eating a delicious and tasty meal with exceptional service.More

The food was good, but the servings sort of sporadic. Would have been good to have an al-a-carte menu, and decent servings of either salad or vegetables. The meat servings were sort of good, though not great. Nice idea though.

We went there as an alternative as meatstock was cancelled. Very disappointed with the quality of meat. The brisket was terribly dry and the pork ribs were cooked but tough to remove from the bone. Not worth the hype.

Hi, yes you can bring your pram along, but please note that we have stairs up to the restaurant and limited storage room for prams. We normally suggest bringing a capsule and we can also provide highchairs if needed.

Definitely not - narrow stairs to get up and generally tightly packed eating areas.
