Great service, well priced food & drinks. The food was fantastic and plenty of it. Enough for a doggy-bag and lunch the next day. Very recommended.

What mixed reviews on here. We chose this restaurant because it was around the corner and handy to her majesty's theatre where we going to see a show. We really enjoyed the food - as a vegetarian, there was a lot of items to choose from the menu and I overheard another customer request vegan which they accommodated. I had... More

We popped in here for a quick pre-show dinner and the service could not be faulted. We were served quickly and efficiently. The food is not "Wow!" but was generous in servings and tasty. i had Mongolian Lamb which we agreed was the 'pick' of our choices and my husband had Sweet and Sour Pork, which was indeed very sweet.... We stopped here for a quick bite before heading out for the evening. We ordered yum cha dishes which were very nice and service was quick.

Picked up some takeaway from here that we had ordered online and were very happy! We ordered sweet and sour pork and it was delicious and that was before the yummy sauce! Food was fresh and tasty and service was quick and staff very friendly, will be back here again!

We were in Chinatown on Chinese New Years Eve and most of the restaurants were closed. Chine on Paramount was busy (but there wasn't much choice). The food was average - but lacking in flavour.

The prawn toast were rather small portions but tasty. We ordered the chicken in pepper hot pot which whilst very nice felt more European than Asian and the beef in black bean whilst tender, lacked some flavour. Our waiter was excellent, pleasant, unobtrusive and we didn't have to wait very long between courses, but didn't feel rushed either.

We went here after checking into our hotel on a Sunday night as it was close by. We had sweet and sour pork which was average and chicken with cashew nuts which was bland. The service was quick and the waitress was always filling up the water glasses. It is right in Chinatown so might be worth a walk down... More

I had enjoyed a meal here in the past but was disappointed this time. As a single diner, I was given a table facing a wall next to the kitchen and toilets. My wine arrived promptly, but the meal took 30 minutes, during which time no-one made eye contact with me. I felt invisible and irrelevant. I won't be back.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
