Have been to this place every Melbourne trip for the last 4 years, its never great but its very consistent, clean and has attentive staff. Beers here are extra cold which is nice, the Peking Duck pancakes were good with succulent and fleshy duck. Yum cha here is consistently good too, although we didn't get the opportunity to try it... We stroll along Chinatown and decide to drop in for dinner, decided on seafood. We order peking duck, lobster, fish and some side dish. The quality of food is good and is Asian style cooking. Lobster cost about $200/kg and the fish is about $160/kg. The whole meal cost $900+ for 6 pax. i think the price is on the... More

Dragon Boat opens around 10 I think. We were there around 1030 and the yum Cha was fairly limited. However by the time we left at around noon the place was in full flight. Lots of great dumplings and the usual fare - squid, buns, seafood and tofu dishes. Nice decode and good service. Definitely recommend it.

We stumbled across this busy restaurant upon our arrival in Melbourne. What a great find! Service was excellent, the food was yummy...especially the dim sims. We also ordered the combination birdsnest , chichen fried rice and black bean scallops and bean curd - our meal was filled with satisfied mmmms. Not cheap, but worth the money.

We ate here recently for my daughter's graduation and whilst the ambiance and quality of the food is still up to their old standards, they seemed to be rushed off their feet despite a large number of waiting staff and it being after the peak meal times. We had to ask several times to order and get some cold water. Whilst l... More

Great service and food! I tried the Honey Chicken in Black Bean sauce and was not let down! Catered for 2 vegetarian friends with great options! Lychee cider was so nice as well!

Ducked in here for a yum cha breakfast, the place does a decent yum cha without anything special. For the price you pay here you'll get better for less up the road.

Had lunch here with my wife. After a morning or walking and exploring this was a nice stop to relax and eat. We had the Yum Cha (better known in the US Dim Sum). It was a bit chaotic and the service a bit confusing, but the food was good and we had fun with the selection.

Great location in China town. Open late. Quick service. Meals were ok - your standard Chinese fare - nothing spectacular. Reasonably priced.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
