Luckily we went fairly early as there was only one waiter on and it got quite busy . He did a great job keeping up the drinks and the food was plentiful and delicious.

Great service and delicious food. We arrived here with only 40mins to eat and go bcs we had tickets to a show. All the restaurants around here were pretty crowded and we were starring to think we'd have to eat maltesers for dinner at the theatre. Took our chances and popped in and explained our time restriction. They managed to... More

In one of the old buildings along the Spring St end of Little Bourke Street, this Greek restaurant offers a great environment to enjoy a meal with friends. The menu provided many choices, making it difficult for all of my party to decide, even myself with dairy free restrictions. I settled on the salt and pepper calamari with a Beetroot,... More

Just around the corner from the Princess Theatre, we happened upon this lovely Greek restaurant. Most of the food we had was wonderfully delicious. The service was a tad variable. It did seem that clearly we wanted to be in and out so the staff were not very interested in us. However if you like Greek food I would recommend... More

We had a quick tapas meal before heading to the Theatre. Just because it was quick doesn't mean it wasn't tasty. From the moment we arrived we had attentive & friendly wait staff. The shared dips platter, saganaki cheese & spanakopita were delicious, tasty & well presented & value for money. Add to this a crisp Riesling & we were... More

Initially heading for Chinatown, we were persuaded by the enticing, modern but cosy decor to opt for Greek instead. The food was excellent and the service very professional and welcoming. We ordered four tasting plates to share and everything tasted fresh and house-made, accompanied by bread that was delicious and plentiful. The highlight was the octopus salad which I will... More

We came by Kri Kri when we stayed in Melbourne to see a show. The menu looked great and it was in our Entertainment Book so we thought we would give it a try. The manager and staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, recommending a variety of dishes to us. Since we hadn't been there before, we chose to have... More

Kri Kri is a Greek restaurant tucked away at the top end of Lttle Bourke St. A very spacious Restaurant with good service and good food. I was quite happy about the overall experience at Kri Kri, If I had to be picky, no olives on starters and dips. As we were a group of 6 with most of us... More

Picked by chance when wandering past and got a table near the front. Initial service was quick if a bit sour We shared and enjoyed the taramasalata (a bit salty) and a plate of grilled red peppers with feta and olives all taken with a couple of chargeable pita breads to start. After a long wait which I think was... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
