What a shame! Have been to Punch Lane many times over the years and tonight, just when we wanted to welcome old Melbournians home after many years away, it let us down. Apparently we did it all wrong by coming for 5pm drinks. Even though...More

On a cold Melbourne afternoon we were searching for a quiet little watering hole. Wow. Seated at the bar, enjoying great cheese and fabulous wine all afternoon. Nearly forgot we had tickets to a show. Will be back for dinner.

This is a quality wine bar and restaurant just down from Her Majesty's Theatre on Little Bourke. We were very impressed with everything the place had to offer, from its menu choices, atmosphere and service to the excellent food and wine. Definitely recommended.

Came here with family and left very impressed. We all enjoyed our meals and were delighted by the friendly staff who looked after us tonight. Would recommend trying the croquettes as a starter (pulled pork, bechamel, cayenne pepper). They are delicious and will kick off...More

Description
A Melbourne institution now in its 22nd year Punch Lane is situated at the Paris end of the CBD near Parliament . We are also in the theatre precinct and perfect for a pre/post show bite to eat . glass of wine or a plate of cheese . Our food style is Modern European with Australian overtones , there is an extensive range of wines by the glass as well as an array of beers and spirits . We are house in one of the original CBD police stations as we where situated in the heart of the red light district of the time . We also boast the original chairs from the Southern Cross Hotel which was the home of the Beatles during their Australian Tour . We look forward to seeing you for a relaxed lunch, a glass of wine or an intimate dinner.
