We had a delightful meal at Gingerboy. It was very busy, (very popular). Had a chicken dish and also a wagyu beef dish with exquisite creamy coconut rice.

Having heard rave reviews about this place, I was excited to finally try dinner here. We had the banquet menu at $85 pp. The service was great and there was a lot of food - too much actually, we couldn't eat the final course. The...More

Visited Gingerboy which has been an old favourite for many years. The food was its usual high standard however the service was poor. We had to constantly “search”for a waiter when there was plenty of them and it’s a small restaurant. They took empty glasses...More

Here I am talking about the food, beautifully presented by informed and attentive staff. Portion sizes appropriate to fine dining Asian style. Lovely, does not disappoint on my annual visit.

In Perth everyone complains about how pricey it is to eat out, but Gingerboy was more expensive than most Perth restaurants. We had 2 starters/street food dishes and 5 mains between 4 of us. The food was OK, but no better than the local Thai...More

I visited Gingerboy on March 13 and had their tasting menu, so the selection of food was not up to us, neither did they list the food items. I was not impressed by the selection. Too many deep fried selections.

Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place
to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place
simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude

Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes
such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your

Melbourne restaurants don't really have a long life span. Ginger boy, unfortunately is one of these, with pricey menu's, and ordinary service, there are much better experiences to be had. For a Hens night, I would suggest... More

The dining experience at Gingerboy is centered on a modern Australian adaptation of the Asian hawker-style street market food. The restaurant's hustle and bustle, its fast-paced, youthful and dynamic environment is influenced not only by the dining culture of Southeast Asia but also by buzzing Asian marketplaces and an Asian sense of colour and fun.
