This restaraunt is great for business or when you want to impress. Good Asian Fusion similar to Chi Chin without the wait. The wine list is expansive and includes a great selection of Australian and European wines. However I would ask the sommelier to recommend...More

Having read a few recent reviews, was prepared for not great service, so am pleased to report that Coda is not resting on its betel leaves. It is not a cheap offering, however one goes for the interesting flavours and these lived up to expectation....More

We were very disappointed by our experience at Coda. The service was terrible, the food was ok at best - despite the waiter informing us that we had ordered the 'best dishes' and the atmosphere was dull. I'm not sure what all the hype is...More

We have been to Coda before and went back with friends from interstate. For a restaurant of this calibrate I very very disappointed in the service. We had to hunt down a waiter for food and drinks all night. While the food is delicious I...More

We tried twelve dishes over a five hour weekend lunch. The final score lay between four and five stars. Of particular interest were the tempura style prawns and the blue fin tuna salad -because we ordered them both twice. And both second serves were quite...More

We have eaten at Coda many times and its the restaurant we recommend for visitors. We prefer not to book and take a chance as we like the informal seating at the bar or on the bench seats near the bar which are for walk...More

We’d heard good things but it really was just average, flavourless and there was nothing special about anything we ate. It was expensive for what we got (so much inedible fat) and as soon as we’d finished eating they asked us to give our table...More

Went to dinner with work suppliers. We let the wait staff pick the menu and the selection of food was amazing. Perfectly seared scallops, tasty morsels in betel leaves, barramundi with fresh herbs, prawn and kaffir dumpling etc followed by luscious deserts. Food was beautiful...More

Went for a meal on Saturday night and everything was spectacular. The food was fantastic and the wine was well matched - let them guide you, they know what they are talking about.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
