Oh my goodness... we were blown away! Seated at the bar & spoilt rotten by the waiter.. my 8 year old daughter was in seventh heaven. We ordered some rice paper rolls to share, they were scrumptious & then a breath taking chocolate desert, that...More

This was an outstanding restaurant experience. We were seated at the bar, which worked well as we could see some of the kitchen work and gain an appreciation of the professionalism and coordination that went into the delivery of the food. The atmosphere would be...More

Great food all round. Highlights were the unique steak tartare with quail egg, the blackened quail and the duck curry. Scallops were good but way too expensive. Service was outstanding.

Coda has been on our to visit list for some time and we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered Coda we were made to feel at home. We chose a selection of dishes as recommended by our waitress, who was very attentive. Two...More

Visited with my wife after the ballet on a Sunday night. We had to wait twenty minutes for a table after 8pm, which wasn’t bad at all. We got a seat at the bar which was still nice because we could watch the action in...More

Located off of Flinders lane (along with pretty much every well-known restaurant in Melbourne) Coda was relaxed yet elegant. Though a bit more on a pricey-end of things, the food is well worth it. Great interior, attentive (but not pushy) services and really delicious food...More

Honeymooners here... Super cool place with really unique food. Very hip and lively! Service very nice and attentive. Maybe go early as the good specials were sold out by 9:00 when we arrived.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
