Ate here on a Friday night and came with massive expectations after reviews and menu surfing. Service started slow with a 20 minute wait to get our wine and food arrived before our drinks. Presentation was nice but felt that some of the dishes needed...More

I had high expectations on this place. The food is good, but nothing special, especially at that price you would expect something more elaborate. I also did not enjoyed the wine by the glass offered, I did not like the few ones I had and...More

Ate here for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Got a seat at the bar and got to watch the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. The stand out dish was the Beijing Crispy Chicken. It was absolutley amazing.. Good cocktails, excellent service, and amazing food. Not...More

Amazingly tantalising different flavours, and wine list to match. Steak tartare and duck curry were highlights. Excellent service.

Excellent, inventive fusion food. Great service while sitting at the bar with full description of each dish as it was served. Worth every penny. Recommended.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Trendy. It's a smart place but casual. Not dressy but trendy. Some of this will depend on your age. I went with my two sons 37 and 40. I wore a jacket with jeans but then I'm a little older. Not sure if this helps at all... More

I had no problem with the way the food looked, so a photo wouldn't help. It was very well presented. It was the way the flavours worked ... or more disappointingly, didn't. But then again, I am often disappointed by... More

Upon opening our doors in 2009, we were thrilled to receive the The Age Good Food Guide's 'HatAward' and have maintained it ever since. Complementing these achievements, we are very proud of Head Sommelier, Travis Howe, who not only won Sommelier of the Year but also picked up the 2013 Wine List of the Year. Nestled in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways (basement Oliver Lane, and Flinders Lane), Coda is located in the busiest and most dynamic culinary precinct the city has to offer. A stone's throw away from the Yarra River, Flinders Street station and Federation Square, the restaurant enjoys hosting a diverse group of diners from frequenting locals who live and work on its doorstep to diners from all over the globe. Upon entering the restaurant you will be greeted by a member of our friendly team headed by Mykal and Kate Bartholomew and Executive Chef Adam D'Sylva. The trio has assembled a dedicated team with highly sought-after experience from many international and Melbourne-based restaurants. Coda's relaxed environment provides a versatile setting for a range of engagements. Whatever your occasion - from a quick pre-football meal, to a long Sunday lunch, business dining or a cosy seat for an anniversary - we look forward to your visit. While bookings are highly recommended, patrons without a reservation can enjoy the full menu at the bar.
