When you have a restaurant you name The Trust, one might expect that you can 'trust' the experience to be in the lest, as required or deemed enjoyable. We had a booking for a Christmas work lunch for 17 and I am not joking when I say one waiter to take food orders and service the tables drinks. The drinks... More

If you like thumping music and cold food this is the place for you. They were asked three times to turn the music down, we were eventually told it was loud to "attract people to the bar from the street" LOL it didn't work. The whole place was empty for the whole three hours we were there. Food was mediocre... More

Came here for a work related function, the grandeur of the place and the plush furniture made me excited for what would be in store for what the place had to offer. All I could say I'm thoroughly disappointed with the food and the overall service. Let's start with the food, I was on a table of 8 and we... More

Good music and laid back atmosphere. Staff very friendly. It was quiet when I visited 8:30 on a Thurs. Had some arancini which was melt in the mouth delicious.

We were a group of seven including three children celebrating my mother's birthday. We arrived at 7.30 and ordered within 15 mins, we were the only people in the restaurant which is a large space not very well heated. Our food did not arrive 8.45, after we complained. Mine (gnocchi) was cold. The Chicken paillard came as a slab of... More

Food was awful, cold and the serving plates were colder..waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for the disappointing badly presented food. We were the only people in the cold restaurant with loud music. No atmosphere, uncomfortable seating and bad service. First and only visit.

The food was great and the menu reflects a true Italian way of eating. Great flavours and the perfect portion sizes. Wonderful wine list

We were booked into the trust for dinner with a sizable group. Food was great but disappointing the way it was priced - I had a steak for example an you only got the piece of steak admittedly it was good but for the price expected more. Then you had to pay even more for sides if you desired. Atmosphere... More

Polite service but atmosphere suffered due to empty, worn out and lack of attention to detail. Food average. Such a shame given the building.

Went here on a Saturday Evening for dinner and was impressed by such a stylish venue. The Staff were friendly and attentive and the meal itself was good. The bread was straight from the oven, the rocket salad entrée was large enough to be shared by 2 people. The ragu was tasty and filling. My other half ordered the crumbed... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
