I ate a couple of times at Mekong when I was in Melbourne. A busy little restaurant serving authentic Vietnam dishes: Pho (white noodles) and spring rolls. Highly recommended.

The stock in the pho is to die for. Really. Came here twice in three days just to be certain. Perfect special beef pho. The spring rolls were a great surprise too, really tasty, good texture and served with super crisp lettuce and a better dipping sauce than one usually is served. Highly recommended.

Love the pho with special beef that consists of sliced beef, sausages, brisket, tendon etc. It tastes so good but the portion is too big for the medium one. The spring rolls are recommended too.

Busy place. Went for dinner. Fairly crowded. Luckily we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Shared table with another group of 3. The free-flow warm tea is always welcoming. We had sliced beef rice noodle soup (pho) and broken rice with chargrilled chicken. Both food were delicious. Would have given the place a higher rating if it were... More

Best pho ever had in my life. It gets very crowdy but this is only because of the ridiculously delicious pho noodle.

I was told by a local friend that this place is an institution, it has been there for ages. The chicken pho I had was much much better than what I had in Hcmc airport! The herbs and veges are fresh and clean, introducing a crisp texture to the hearty soup. Would definitely return my next trip to Melb!

Went back there after 8 years from last visit. Standard of food has dropped drastically. Had Beef Pho. The soup was not fragrant & less rich from before. The soup also had a funny taste. Food was not as fresh as it used to be.

Love this place. Love the Pho! So fresh, so yummy, so fast and so inexpensive. A must go. I never miss an opportunity to eat here when in Mebourne.

This is a Pho Diner. There are a few other things on the menu however they do Pho. It was not ravingly good however it was hot, tasty and dependable. I had the Prawn Rice Paper Rolls, just lettuce, vermacilli and prawns with a sauce. Lacked finesse but then really this pho shop doesn't do finesse. They do slap em... More

Ordered the raw + cooked beef noddles and the springroll. The soup of the noodles are so good. Definitely no MSG added (at least you won't feel thirsty after eating). The soup is so tasty, then I can't stop eating LOL Beef is tender. everything matches. The springroll is good but not a big wow. It's quite packed, as they... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
